AliExpress store registration process and analysis of frequently asked questions

Opening a store on the AliExpress platform is the first choice for many cross-border e-commerce sellers. This article aims to introduce in detail the specific process of AliExpress store registration, and give official guidance and suggestions for problems that cannot be successfully registered.

1. Account registration

  1. Log in to “www.aliexpress.com”, click “Seller Center” in the navigation bar, and select “Chinese Seller Settlement”.
  2. Click the “Register” button in the upper right corner of the page to enter the registration page.
    • Set username: Use an email address that can receive emails normally as the username (xx@xx.com).
    • Fill in the account information: including login password, English name (first name first, last name last), mobile phone number, contact address, etc.
    • It should be noted that the email account you fill in will be used for subsequent logins, so you need to ensure it is accurate; your mobile phone number must be kept open in order to receive the verification code; your English name should be the pinyin form of your Chinese name.

2. Identity authentication

After completing the account registration, the seller needs to bind the Alipay account through identity authentication. This process supports the use of corporate Alipay or legal representative Alipay for authentication. When choosing a corporate identity, there are two methods: corporate Alipay authentication and corporate legal person Alipay authentication.

  • When selecting corporate Alipay authentication, if you have not registered yet, you need to follow the prompts to complete the registration process, including email verification, account information filling, real-name authentication and other steps.
  • Real-name authentication is required to be completed within two months after successful registration, and relevant certificate information of the company and legal representative needs to be uploaded.
  • The certification information review is usually completed within 48 hours, and the review results will be notified via text message or email.

3. Apply for business categories

After passing the identity authentication, the seller needs to select a business category. Each store can only choose one business category.

  • Select the sales plan type (basic or standard), then select the corresponding business category according to your needs and submit the application.

4. Brand authorization

Some major business categories require brand authorization before listing products. Merchants need to upload a trademark registration certificate or provide a brand authorization letter according to their own circumstances.

  • The platform will complete the brand authorization review within 7 working days.

5. Pay annual fee

After completing the above steps, the seller needs to pay the annual technical service fee. Log in to the store backend and click the “Pay” button in the corresponding location to complete the payment.

Analysis of reasons for registration failure

If you encounter difficulties during the registration process, it may be because you have not followed AliExpress’s registration rules. These include but are not limited to:

  • Emails and store names must not contain illegal information;
  • Only sellers from mainland China can register on AliExpress;
  • Do not use false information to register;
  • The same member is only allowed to have one account that can sell goods;
  • Must pass real-name authentication and pass the exam;
  • Post at least 10 products.

To sum up, strictly following the platform regulations and ensuring the authenticity and completeness of the information provided are the keys to successfully registering an AliExpress store.
