AliExpress Logistics Template and Freight Rate Setting Guide

On the AliExpress platform, sellers must set relevant shipping templates before publishing products. Although the platform provides novice freight templates, as sellers’ business grows and logistics providers change, they need to constantly adjust freight settings to meet market demand.

Freight rate template setting steps

  1. Log in to Seller Center: Enter the “Product Management” module and select the “Logistics Template” option.

  2. Add freight template: Click the “Add freight template” button and enter the name of the freight template (English and numbers only).

  3. Choose a shipping method: Set shipping rates and promised delivery times, and configure custom shipping rates.

    • Select country by continent: When selecting a country, sellers can select popular countries.
    • Select countries by region: Countries in the region are required to have the same logistics charging standards.

    Note:

    • The number of countries selected by region is: Region 1 (10 countries), Region 2 (36 countries), Region 3 (51 countries), Region 4 (124 countries). The top country in each region is the country with the larger number of buyers.
  4. Set shipping type: Select “Seller pays shipping” or “Custom shipping” and decide to set shipping costs by weight or quantity.

    • Setting by weight requires defining the shipping standards for the first weight and subsequent weights.
    • Setting by quantity requires setting the minimum and maximum purchase quantities for the first weight and their corresponding shipping costs.
  5. No delivery area settings: Indicate which countries do not deliver goods to ensure that sellers can effectively control the delivery scope.

  6. Template saving: After completing all settings, click the “Save” button, and the freight template is set successfully.

  7. Product Release: Sellers can modify the shipping fee template for products on sale in the “Product Management” module, or select the corresponding shipping fee template when new products are released.

Introduction to freight templates for beginners

For new sellers, AliExpress provides novice shipping templates, including a variety of logistics options, such as AliExpress Saver Shipping, AliExpress Premium Shipping, etc. These logistics options are based on the quotations of major express delivery companies in mainland China, and are accompanied by corresponding discounts.

The necessity of customizing freight templates

Since novice templates cannot meet the needs of all sellers, sellers can develop custom freight templates based on actual conditions. When setting up a custom template, sellers need to pay attention to the following aspects:

  1. Shipping area selection: Clarify which countries can be shipped and which countries require non-shipping settings.
  2. Logistics methods and discount settings: Choose the appropriate logistics method and configure preferential policies.
  3. Personalized promised delivery time: If different countries need to set different promised delivery times, sellers should consider the actual postal conditions and buyer experience.

Through the above steps, sellers can flexibly set up according to different market needs and ensure the smooth operation of the store. It is important to note that international logistics is affected by policy changes, logistics costs, extreme weather and other factors. Sellers should always pay attention to these factors and reasonably adjust freight settings to ensure business flexibility and effectiveness.
