Being hacked once is an accident, but being hacked more than twice is definitely not an accident. Sellers should learn from their mistakes and learn the experience and skills to protect the security of their accounts and funds, and never let hackers take advantage of them again. The following are five experiences and skills for sellers to improve the security factor of their accounts and prevent them from happening again.
1. Improve the security factor of your account: set up two-step verification
From the perspective of account security, Amazon has enabled the two-step verification mode. After setting up two-step verification successfully, when the seller logs in to the account, in addition to logging in to the email address and login password, he or she also needs to enter the SMS verification code to log in successfully.
When doing two-step verification, the seller needs to prepare two mobile phone numbers, choose phone voice or SMS verification, or prepare a mobile phone number and download the authentication program on the mobile phone to complete the verification. The mobile phone number does not require the legal person to provide, as long as it has never been used on the Amazon platform.
For the steps to set up two-step verification, please refer to Amazon’s official article “Amazon sellers please complete two-step verification of seller accounts before October 31!”, link: http://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/5Q14IclE2h—NqZQQyNRMxA.
If the seller thinks it is not necessary to use the verification code to log in to the account on the regular login computer, you can check “Don’t require codes on this device” (regular login computer does not require verification). After setting, the SMS verification code will be cancelled. The next time you log in on this device, you do not need to enter the verification code. Once the account is logged in from a different location, the seller will be required to re-enter the verification code and accept the two-step verification.
If the seller needs to cancel the verification code login, you can click the following link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer /display.html?nodeId=202073840. Then apply to close the verification according to the prompts. The seller can log in without using the verification code.
2. Set up sub-accounts, just in case
You can set up one or more sub-accounts according to the actual account operation needs, including:
①The main account is only for management or dedicated personnel;
②Accounts set up one or more sub-accounts according to operational needs, grant sub-accounts different permissions, and then assign
to different operators;
③According to actual conditions, set user permissions for a sub-account to make it a super user with the permission to view and edit Amazon Payments. Once the main account has an abnormality, you can view the account status through the sub-account and modify the collection account information, leaving a way to save the account.
