(I) Club Factory

As a cross-border e-commerce platform from Hangzhou, China, Club Factory is a representative of China’s overseas e-commerce, and has performed well in the two emerging markets of India and the Middle East. The platform was established in 2016. After the launch of sales in India for about 18 months, it already had 40 million registered users (Flipkart only had more than 100 million registered users in its ten years of operation).

The platform adopts the self-built website model and does not stock its own products, but matches orders through algorithms. The upstream connects with many small and medium-sized manufacturers or wholesalers of similar products, and the platform uniformly provides pricing, personnel and goods matching, customer service, overseas logistics and other services. After overseas buyers place an order, the system will automatically match suppliers who can ship. The suppliers will send the goods to the platform warehouse through domestic logistics. The platform is responsible for quality inspection and packaging and sending them overseas. Local third-party logistics is used for distribution. The logistics time of this model will be longer, but the platform is positioned as low-priced products (fashion, beauty and life categories), and consumers are more tolerant of logistics speed.
