After all the previous work is completed, you can upload the product. The product upload is divided into single product upload and variant upload. This section introduces how to upload a single product.
1. Purchase UPC code Amazon needs an independent UPC code to upload products. You can buy it from three channels, namely official channels, generators, and Taobao. The official channel for purchasing UPC is GS1, which is the most formal, but the price is expensive. The generator can directly generate UPC codes, but sometimes it will conflict with the formal code. Although some sellers are using it, it is not recommended for novices to use it. Once it is found, they will face the risk of listing being removed from the shelves.
There are also many sellers who buy UPC codes from Taobao. The price is not expensive, there is a certain guarantee of security, and there are certificates. Taobao sellers buy them in large quantities from GS1 or Bar Codes Talk, but it is necessary to distinguish the authenticity. Some Haibao sellers’ UPC codes may also be generated by the generator.
2. Add products
Click the “Inventory” tab on the Amazon interface, and then click the “Add a product” button. On the Add Product page, click “I want to add a new product that is not sold on Amazon.”
3. Select product category
You can select the category you need in the category list. Or you can directly paste the product keywords in the search bar, and the system will launch several options. Select the most appropriate category. If you are not sure which category your product belongs to, you can check which category your competitors put the product in, and then arrange your own product categories according to the competitors’ choices. For example, you can directly see which category the product is in through the function of the SellerSprite plug-in.
It is very important to choose the right category node. If the product is placed in the wrong category, then the product will most likely not get traffic, which is a fatal blow to product promotion. Therefore, be sure to check the category clearly before the product is put on the shelf.
In addition, the listing of certain categories requires review. The review of this category day is not necessarily reviewed at the time of listing. It may be that your product has been shipped to the Amazon warehouse or triggered during the sales process. So before listing the product, we must first know whether our product will trigger a classification review. The categories that trigger classification reviews are listed in the appendix of this book.
