On AliExpress, reputation evaluation refers to the process by which both parties to a transaction evaluate each other’s reputation, and includes a five-point rating and a discussion.
Seller sub-item rating refers to the buyer’s anonymous comprehensive evaluation of the seller’s accuracy in describing the product, the quality of communication and the speed of response, and the rationality of the product delivery time after the order is completed. It is a one-way rating made by the buyer to the seller. Unlike reputation evaluation, seller sub-item rating can only be evaluated by the buyer to the seller, while reputation evaluation is a mutual evaluation between the buyer and the seller.
(1) For orders shipped by the seller, both parties can evaluate the order within 30 days after the transaction is completed. Regarding AliExpress reputation evaluation, if neither party gives an evaluation, there will be no record of any evaluation for the order; if one party makes an evaluation during the evaluation period and the other party does not, the system will not give the evaluator a default evaluation.
(2) Calculation of product/merchant positive feedback ratings and merchant reputation points (Feedback Score):
① If the same buyer makes only one evaluation of the same seller in the same natural ten-day period (a natural ten-day period is the 1st to 10th, 11th to 20th, and 21st to 31st of each month), the rating star of the buyer’s order will be the star star of the current evaluation (the natural ten-day period is calculated based on U.S. time);
② If the same buyer makes multiple evaluations of the same seller in the same natural ten-day period, they will be aggregated and calculated separately according to the evaluation type (good, fair, bad), that is, the number of good, fair, and bad reviews will be counted only once each (including the situation where there are multiple products in one order).
③ In the seller’s sub-item rating, if the same buyer gives multiple ratings for one of the three items of accuracy of product description, quality of communication and response speed, and reasonableness of product delivery time within a natural ten-day period, only one rating will be counted. The calculation method for the buyer’s rating of a certain item in the natural ten-day period is as follows: average rating = total of the buyer’s ratings for the sub-item/number of ratings (rounded off).
④ The credit rating points obtained by the AliExpress seller determine the seller’s credit rating.
(3) The rating file includes the recent rating summary (member company name, positive rating rate in the past 6 months, number of ratings in the past 6 months, reputation and membership start date), rating history (indicators such as positive rating rate, neutral rating rate, negative rating rate, number of ratings and average star rating within the time span of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and the cumulative history) and rating records (all rating records received by the member, all rating records given, and designated rating records within a specified time period).
Positive review rate = number of positive reviews within 6 months / (number of positive reviews within 6 months + number of negative reviews within 6 months); Negative review rate = number of negative reviews within 6 months / (number of positive reviews within 6 months + number of negative reviews within 6 months); Average star rating = total star rating of all evaluations / number of evaluations. Average rating of each item in the seller’s sub-item rating = total score of the buyer’s rating of the sub-item / number of evaluations (rounded up).
(4) Regarding reputation evaluation, both buyers and sellers can respond to negative reviews received.
(5) AliExpress has the right to delete evaluation content that contains personal attacks or inappropriate remarks. If the buyer’s reputation evaluation is deleted, the seller’s sub-item rating will be deleted.
(6) AliExpress reserves the right to change the reputation evaluation system, including evaluation methods, evaluation rate calculation methods, and various evaluation rates.
