1. Selling products: Implanting content around products in the form of soft ads
There are two main ways to sell products in Douyin: one is to sell products from your own store and earn income directly; the other is to earn commissions by helping others sell goods. Next, the author will explain them separately.
1. Selling products from your own store
Douyin short video was originally positioned as a platform for users to share a better life. With the opening of product sharing functions and product showcase functions, Douyin short video began to become a platform with e-commerce attributes, and its commercial value has always been favored by the outside world.
For Douyin operators who own stores on platforms such as Taobao and have opened Douyin stores, selling goods directly through self-operated stores is undoubtedly a very convenient and effective way to realize cash. Douyin e-commerce operators only need to add products from their own stores to the product showcase, or share product links in Douyin short videos, and other Douyin users can purchase products by clicking on the links, as shown in Figure 8-5. After the goods are sold, Douyin e-commerce operators can directly obtain profits.
2. Earn commissions by helping others sell goods
The e-commerce value of the Douyin short video platform has increased rapidly. One of the important reasons is that with the launch of the Selected Alliance, Douyin users can earn commissions by helping others sell goods even if they do not have their own stores. In other words, as long as the Douyin account has opened the product showcase and product sharing functions, it can earn revenue by guiding sales.
Of course, when adding products, Douyin e-commerce operators can check the revenue obtained from each order in advance. Taking women’s clothing as an example, Douyin e-commerce operators can directly search for women’s clothing and view the revenue that can be obtained from each order of related products. If you want to increase the revenue that can be obtained from each order, you can also click the “Commission Rate” button to arrange the products according to the revenue that can be earned from each order, as shown in Figure 8-6.
After the products are added, Douyin e-commerce operators can obtain revenue according to the displayed commission by having other users click on the products in the product showcase or the product link in the short video to purchase the products. After obtaining the commission, you only need to withdraw the cash to get the revenue.
2. Become a micro-business: convert Douyin users to social software for monetization
The operation of micro-business is not much different from that of e-commerce, except that the diversion platforms are different, and the premise is that both have their own products. The monetization of micro-business is mainly to guide Douyin users to social software to generate monetization. The specific operation methods can be divided into content guidance (not recommended, high risk factor), personal signature registration, comment guidance, live broadcast guidance, etc.
After guiding Douyin users to social software, you can then promote the product by sharing the micro-store product link to Moments, etc., as shown in Figure 8-7. As long as the user clicks on the link to purchase the product, the micro-business can directly earn income.
3. Live broadcast: Get gifts and guide product sales through live broadcast
Now e-commerce live broadcast is also a function to increase sales. As long as your work becomes popular, you should seize the opportunity to start live broadcast sales. There will be many people who are interested in you entering the live broadcast room to listen to you recommend your own products.
