Due to regulatory restrictions across the United States, eBay recently announced that it will ban the sale of some products related to the new coronavirus epidemic, such as masks and hand sanitizers.

From now on, mask products including N95/N100 and medical surgical masks, hand sanitizers or hand gels, and disinfectant wipes are prohibited from being sold. eBay will prevent new listings of the above products and will also remove existing products from the shelves.

eBay stated that the above products may violate applicable US laws and regulations and eBay policies, and have shown unfair pricing behavior to platform buyers.

Next, eBay will continue to monitor developments and quickly delete any product listings that mention COVID-19, coronavirus, and 2019nCoV in the title or description, except for books.

eBay previously issued an announcement to clarify the listing policy for products related to the new coronavirus. eBay prohibits the inclusion of health claims in titles and item descriptions, and prohibits the misuse of words such as “Coronavirus”, “Covid-19”, and “Virus”.

In addition, the platform also prohibits the creation of listings that attempt to profit from tragedies and disasters (such as the outbreak of the new coronavirus). All sellers who have listings for masks, hand sanitizers, wipes, etc. need to check themselves to ensure that they comply with eBay’s listing policy. This time, eBay’s policy has been further upgraded to directly ban the sale of products such as masks and hand sanitizers.
