When photographing products in the studio, it is necessary to arrange the lighting reasonably to show the texture of the products. Different materials and products require different lighting effects. Soft light can be used for products with soft materials, and direct light can be used for products with strong reflectiveness to set off the texture of the products.

Lighting on both sides of the front: This is one of the most commonly used lighting methods for product photography. The direction of light projection is consistent with the shooting direction of the camera. The lighting method on both sides of the front will make the light projected from the front comprehensive and balanced, which can fully display the products without dark corners, but it is necessary to ensure that the indoor light source is balanced and the intensity of the light is strong enough.

Lighting at 45" angles on both sides: The top of the product is illuminated, and the front is not fully illuminated. It is suitable for photographing small products with flat shapes, but not suitable for photographing products with strong three-dimensionality and a certain height.

Unbalanced lighting at 45" angles on one side: This method will make the projection of the bottom of the product illuminated by side light deeper, which has a strong expression of the three-dimensional shape and texture of the product, but many details of the product cannot be presented. A reflector or white foam board can be used on the other side to reflect light onto the shadow surface.

Front and back cross lighting: This method is a combination of front side lighting and rear side lighting. When lighting from the front side of the product, a large area of darkness will appear on the back of the product, and the details of the product cannot be presented. Combining lighting from the rear side can reflect the layering of the dark part.

Rear lighting: Also known as contour lighting, it refers to lighting from the back of the product. This method can only illuminate the outline of the subject.
