They can quickly bring a large amount of traffic to the store, and the order volume of sellers participating in the activities will also surge during the event. For different consumer customers, the platform has different requirements for store products for each activity. When there are too many registered stores, the platform will screen the registered stores.
Common platform activities include “SuperDeals”, “Double Eleven” large-scale promotions, “328” anniversary large-scale promotions, and national station group purchases.
(1) SuperDeals, also known as the platform’s “flash sale” activities, include Tday Deal and Weekend Deal. The entrance to “SuperDeals” can be seen on the AliExpress buyer homepage.
(2) “Double Eleven” large-scale promotions. “Double Eleven” is not only a Chinese online shopping carnival, but also a large-scale promotion for global buyers on “Double Eleven”. In the early stage of the event, the platform will carry out pre-promotion and publicity for participating stores.
(3) “328” anniversary large-scale promotion. This is a major promotional event held by AliExpress every year. “Gratitude, promotion, and merchants” are important parts of the 2019 “328” anniversary celebration. The 2019 “328” major promotional event will be open for 4 days. In 2019, a new user gameplay was added – a new user exclusive. In each country, some special rights and interests will be given to new users, such as mobile phone recharge in Russia and game points cards in Spain. The gameplay for old members is to start with price, coupons, and marketing.
(4) National station group buying. AliExpress platform has separate national group buying pages for different countries, such as Brazil group buying, Indonesia group buying, etc.
After understanding the platform activities, how should sellers sign up?
The registration process for platform activities is as follows:
(1) Enter the “Marketing Activities” in the seller’s backend to see the “Activity Quick Entry” page. Select “Platform Activities” from the list on the left to view various activities you want to participate in but with different participation qualifications.
(2) After selecting a platform activity you can participate in, click “I want to register” to enter the registration process. The next step is to select products. Since the number of products allocated to sellers by the platform is limited, you must select competitive products to participate in the activity, and then click “OK”.
(3) Platform activities have specific requirements for the discount level, inventory, and purchase quantity limit of participating products. After completing all the settings according to the prompts, click “OK” to successfully register.
(4) After successful registration, the AliExpress platform will review and screen the registration information. Sellers can check the review status by entering “Platform Activities”.
Platform activities are one of the most effective marketing methods for AliExpress, but sellers cannot participate blindly. Generally speaking, before registering, they also need to consider: whether the product profit margin of their own store can withstand the discount space of the participating activities; whether the inventory supply is sufficient when the order volume surges during the event, so as not to affect the store image due to insufficient inventory.
