The seller worked hard to create a listing for his own product. After operating for a period of time, he found that a listing for a hot-selling product was added with a self-link by other sellers, and a lower price was set, which increased their exposure and traffic. The seller was very angry and actively looked for a solution to the problem.

1. What is follow-selling?

The problem the seller encountered is follow-selling. Follow-selling means that other sellers have created a product page, and you also sell things on this page. For example: A created a product page, this product page is shared, and everyone can sell things on this page. B also came to this page to sell the same product, and even C, D, etc. Other sellers only need to change the price of the product to sell the same product. Other follow-selling sellers other than A do not need to edit the product text content and pictures by themselves to sell products. This is the Amazon follow-selling rule. The original intention of Amazon to set up the follow-selling rule is to encourage different agents of the same brand to compete on price, benefit consumers, and increase the attractiveness of the Amazon platform. Many novice small sellers are lazy, and even poor in English. Follow-selling does not require creating a product page by themselves, but follow-selling for immediate benefits.

2. Create your own listing.

Self-built listings can prevent others from copying sales, maintain our profit margin, and prevent others from tampering with the content in the listing. We have already talked about how to create a listing in question 13, so I will not repeat it here.

3. Brand registration.

You can register through an agency, and you can go to Amazon to file it after registration. After registration, you will receive an acceptance letter, and you can submit relevant information on Amazon with the acceptance letter to complete the filing. When filing, you also need to provide the company website, the email address with the website suffix, and the product pictures (with the brand logo).

4. Brand registration.

Prepare the product registration acceptance letter, company website, email address with the website as the suffix, and two product pictures. After submitting to Amazon, you can register within 48 hours. After completion, you can get a code called GCID. After getting this code, the brand will be protected.

5. Issue a warning to the seller.

The seller is currently a brand protected by Amazon, and he needs to deal with the copycat problem next. First, he planned to solve the problem privately, and issued warnings to several sellers who followed the sellers, asking them to remove the listings. Some sellers quickly followed the advice and removed the listings. However, some sellers did not heed the warning and were stubborn, so the sellers planned to complain to Amazon.

6. Report to Amazon.

The seller first reported the seller by test buying. He bought the product as a buyer and took photos of the product he received. Then he contacted the platform in the Amazon backend, selected “Report a violation”, explained the violations of other sellers in the report, provided photos of the illegal products, the differences between the counterfeit products and his own genuine products, and the seller’s ID, and left a contact email address, waiting for Amazon’s official handling.
