Detailed explanation of product and performance requirements of Amazon ShopLocal program
Amazon’s ShopLocal program is an invitation-only program that allows sellers to ship eligible products within their city, state, or state, rather than nationwide. Sellers participating in the program can choose to ship products only within their state (such as California), substates (such as Southern California), and cities (such as Los Angeles).
How to join the Amazon ShopLocal program
If you are invited to participate in the Amazon ShopLocal program, you can create regional templates limited to the desired region. Only invited sellers can use this feature. Here are the steps to join:
- Click [New Shipping Template] in the shipping settings.
- On the new/edit delivery template page, deselect the relevant areas and select only the areas you are interested in providing delivery services.
- Save the template.
- Add inventory to the template.
Note: Sellers must select at least a standard shipping area. For example, a seller must use standard shipping in New York to use next-day shipping in that city.
Product selection policy
Only some products meet the local-specific requirements for seller fulfillment. Eligible items include but are not limited to:
- Weight > 150 lbs.
- Length > 105 inches (length is defined as the longest side).
- Girth > 80 inches. Girth is defined as length + height * 2 + width * 2.
- TV > 40 inches.
- Any type of light tube.
- Food and beverages.
Sellers may also provide additional services for product selection, such as installation or assembly.
Performance requirements
To remain eligible for the program, seller accounts must also remain in good standing. Existing performance indicators apply. If you use templates for large and heavy products, you must also comply with the performance requirements for large and heavy products.
Late delivery rate
The Late Shipping Rate (LSR) is the percentage of orders confirmed to be shipped after the estimated shipping time within a 10- or 30-day period. Sellers should keep their late shipment rate below 4%, otherwise it may result in account deactivation.
Cancellation rate before delivery
The pre-delivery cancellation rate (CR) is the percentage of all orders canceled by the seller as a percentage of the total number of orders within a given 7-day period. Sellers should keep their pre-delivery cancellation rate below 2.5%, otherwise it may result in account deactivation.
Effective tracking rate
The effective tracking rate (VTR) is the percentage of the number of orders with valid tracking codes checked by Amazon as a percentage of the total number of confirmed shipped orders within a given 30-day period. Sellers must maintain an effective tracking rate greater than or equal to 95%, otherwise the account may be deactivated.
On-time delivery rate
On-time delivery rate (OTDR) is the percentage of shipments delivered before the estimated delivery date to the total number of tracked orders in the first 2 weeks from the date the seller checks the on-time delivery rate. The on-time delivery rate is no less than 97%.
The above are the products and performance requirements of the Amazon ShopLocal program. I hope it will be helpful to you.
