Ozon platform product archive function and product recovery guide
On the Ozon platform, merchants’ ability to flexibly manage inventory is one of the keys to successfully operating an e-commerce business. This article integrates the role of the Ozon product archive, its operating procedures, and a complete guide on how to restore archived products to help merchants optimize inventory management and improve sales efficiency.
The role of Ozon product archive library
The product archive provides merchants with a means to effectively manage inventory. When there are no goods in stock in the warehouse, these goods cannot be purchased on the Ozon platform. At this time, the inventory quantity of these products will be displayed as “0” in the merchant’s personal center product list. If restocking is not carried out within 30 days, these products will disappear from the search results on the Ozon platform, making it impossible for buyers to find them.
For those products that are temporarily unable to be replenished or are planned to be removed from the shelves, merchants can choose to move them to the product archive. Once moved to the archive library, these products will disappear from the personal center product summary list, and can then be found in the “Archiving” column on the “Products and Prices → Product List” page. Merchants can restore these items from the archive to the product list at any time.
Steps to archive items
If the merchant wants to move the product to the archive, he or she can follow the steps below:
- Open the “All Products” column on the “Products and Prices→Product List” page and check one or more products.
- Confirm that the values in the “Ozon Warehouse” and “My Warehouse” columns of the selected product are both “0”.
- If you select a single product, click “Action” and select “Move to Archive”; if you select multiple products, click “Action” → “Move to Archive”.
The selected items will be moved to the archive.
How to restore archived items
When a merchant decides to re-sell archived items on the Ozon platform, they can follow the following specific steps to restore them:
- Log in to the Ozon merchant backend and click the “Products” tab.
- Select “All Products” at the top, then click “Archived” to enter the archived product list.
- Locate the product you want to restore, scroll to its row, and click the “Restore” button, which will start the product recovery process.
- After the operation is completed, return to the active product list to confirm whether the restored products are visible, and ensure that all product information and settings are up to date.
When restoring items, merchants should consider the following key aspects:
- Update product information: Make sure product information (such as price, description, images) is up to date and accurate, and make adjustments if necessary.
- Inventory management: Check and update inventory information to ensure there is enough inventory to support the re-stocking of products.
- Market Trends: Consider current market trends and customer needs to ensure restored merchandise meets market conditions.
- Promotion strategy: If the product restoration is related to a specific promotion, please ensure the effective implementation of the promotion strategy.
Delete and retain products
Merchants need to understand that the products that have passed the review cannot be completely deleted. The Ozon platform will retain the information of these products so that they can be re-listed in the future. If the products have not passed review, merchants can choose to delete them. The steps are:
- Open the “Archiving” column on the “Products and Prices→Product List” page and check one or more products.
- Click “Operation” → “Delete”, the selected product will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
Note that items that have been ordered but not yet processed will be considered “reserved items”. These items will temporarily disappear from the list of available items, but they will return to the status of being available for sale as soon as the relevant order is processed. .
By rationally utilizing product archives and controlling the retention status of products, merchants can manage inventory more effectively and improve overall operational efficiency.
