FBA warehouses bring convenience to Amazon sellers in logistics and distribution, so naturally sellers also need to “pay” for this convenience, including but not limited to storage fees. Storage fees are divided into regular inventory storage fees and long-term storage fees. When talking about “removal of warehouses”, “long-term storage fees” are naturally involved. So how long is considered “long-term”? In Amazon’s rules, “long-term” means “six months or more in Amazon’s operations center.” If it is determined to be “long-term”, how should sellers “pay”? Amazon stipulates as follows.

For products that have been in Amazon’s operations center for 6 to 12 months as of the inventory cleanup date, the fee is charged at a rate of US$11.25 per cubic foot. For products that have been in Amazon’s operations center for 12 months as of the inventory cleanup date, the fee is charged at a rate of US$22.50 per cubic foot. The long-term storage fee is an additional fee to the regular inventory storage fee. If a removal order has been created or the product has been discarded before the fee is charged, the long-term storage fee will not be charged.

Why do goods stay in the warehouse for a long time and incur long-term storage fees? Generally speaking, there are two main reasons: ① they have not been sold and have been unsalable for a long time; ② the listing has been removed for various reasons and the product can no longer be sold.
