Brand registration is one of the most important things on the Amazon platform. It can effectively prevent infringement and follow-up sales to a certain extent, establish brand image, and safeguard the rights and interests of sellers. Amazon’s brand registration requirements have always been very strict, and only R trademarks can be successfully registered. Then after Amazon restarted the registration window, the wind seemed to be different. Many sellers personally tested that TM trademarks can also be registered with Amazon!

It turns out that Amazon’s brand registration is not really to verify whether the seller has registered a trademark. The upgraded Amazon brand registration window is to check whether the seller has registered a brand with the Trademark Office. Whether it is TM or R mark, it is recognized at this stage. As long as the seller is a formally registered trademark with a serial number, it can be successfully registered.

Log in to Amazon’s brand registration website, https://brandregistry.amazon.com/, enter the correct account password and company information, and successfully enter the brand qualification page after receiving and entering the verification code. Here, sellers need to truthfully fill in the brand information, such as whether the brand has a registered trademark, whether there is a permanently attached brand name and logo, etc. After the system reopens the filing review, after May 11, it will verify whether the seller has registered a trademark. Therefore, whether it is a TM trademark or an R trademark, they are both recognized trademarks at this stage and have valid serial numbers. This means that at present, on the Amazon platform, as long as the trademark with a formally registered serial number can be successfully filed!

So how to register a trademark? You can register independently or find an institution to register. However, trademark registration is professional, and it is recommended that sellers find relevant professional service companies to register.

Self-registration requires logging in to the trademark registration website of each country, preparing materials, such as registration application forms, trademark styles, etc., uploading registration by yourself, and paying fees. After receiving the application, the result will be issued in about 3-6 months, and the Trademark Office will verify whether the trademark applied for registration is compliant. After successful registration, it has a validity period of 10 years, during which the seller will have full right to use this trademark.
