FBA Label Service

For eligible products that require Amazon barcodes, FBA will apply them for you (for a per-unit fee).

Eligibility

Products that qualify for FBA Label Service:

Condition: Any condition (new, used, collectible, and refurbished)

Product type: Any type (media and non-media)

Not prohibited, restricted, or high-priced

Have a scannable barcode (GCID, UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN) that corresponds to an ASIN in Amazon’s online catalog.

Note: Starting April 17, 2018, you may no longer use a GCID in place of a UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN to create an ASIN. If your brand has been accepted into the new Amazon Brand Registry program and your products do not have a UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN, apply for a Global Trade Item Number exemption.

Important: If there is no eligible manufacturer barcode on your product, you must apply the Amazon barcode to your product yourself.

Amazon will determine which products are eligible for the FBA Label Service at its sole discretion. We reserve the right to disqualify products that otherwise meet the above requirements from the service.

Terms and Conditions

By enabling the FBA Label Service, you agree to have Amazon apply Amazon barcodes to your eligible inventory, subject to the following terms and conditions.

Once your eligible products arrive at a fulfillment center, we will apply Amazon barcodes to them using the product information you provide.

The fee is $0.30 per unit.

You can choose to apply the barcode labels to individual units yourself by selecting Seller under Labeler during the shipment creation process.

You will be instructed to split your shipment so that the products eligible for the FBA Label Service are packed together.

FBA Label Service shipments may be further split into multiple shipments.

For products that are not eligible for FBA Label Service, you are responsible for affixing any required Amazon barcodes. For more information, see Tracking inventory with Amazon barcodes.

For eligible products, you can track inventory using manufacturer barcodes. For more information, see Tracking inventory with manufacturer barcodes.

Change options for FBA Label Service

You can change your options for FBA Label Service in FBA settings.

In your seller account, click FBA under Settings.

Find Optional Services and click Edit.

Under Labeler, select Amazon to enroll in FBA Label Service or Seller to unenroll.

Click Save.

Important: The new settings will apply to shipments you create after you change your options. If you want the new settings to apply to a shipment you are currently creating, you must delete that shipment and create a new one.

Identify an FBA Label Service shipment

You can identify an FBA Label Service shipment in the following ways:

The FBA pallet or carton label will have FBA-PREP in the upper left corner.

The message “Product labels: Required (FBA Label Service)” will appear in the shipment details on the Shipment Queue page

The FBA Label Service and the estimated associated fee will be mentioned in the Label Products tab of the shipment creation process

We may instruct you to split shipments so that items destined

Shipments directed to the FBA Label Service may be further split into multiple shipments.

For products that do not qualify for the FBA Label Service, you are responsible for applying any required Amazon barcodes. For more information, seeUse an Amazon barcode to track inventory.

Change your FBA Label Service option

You can change your FBA Label Service option in your Fulfillment by Amazon settings.

In your seller account, under Settings, click Fulfillment by Amazon.

Locate Optional Servicesand click Edit.

Under Who Labels, select Amazonto enroll in the FBA label service or Merchantto cancel your enrollment.

Click Save.

Important:The new setting is applied to shipments you create after you change your selection. if you want the new setting to apply to shipments you are currently working on, you must delete it and create a new shipment.

Identify FBA Label Service shipments

Shipments destined for the FBA Label Service can by identified by:

FBA pallet or carton labels that include FBA-PREP in the upper left hand corner

The message Item Labels: required (Label Service) in the shipment details on the Shipping Queuepage
