According to the Lazada platform regulations, sellers must sell brand new, legally authorized products or self-produced products. They are not allowed to sell second-hand products, products prohibited by law, food, edible health products, unauthorized products (such as any unauthorized products containing Disney images), products that promote violence or racism and incite hatred or violate local religious beliefs.

So, what are the specific regulations on banned products in Southeast Asian sites?

(1) Products banned from sale in Malaysia include: food; edible health products; tobacco and e-cigarettes; weapons and knives; fireworks and their devices; diamonds from Côte d’Ivoire; pirated and counterfeit products.

(2) Products banned from sale in Indonesia include: food and beverages; any medicines; anesthetics and health products; traditional Chinese medicine; explosive and dangerous goods; flammable materials; fireworks; cigarettes; e-cigarettes and other tobacco-related products; alcohol and other alcoholic beverages; firearms and weapons; sex toys and pornographic products; counterfeit, pirated or counterfeit products; counterfeit banknotes, bills or coins.

(3) Products prohibited from sale on the Singapore site include: chewing gum; tobacco, e-cigarettes or hookahs; weapons; expired or harmful medicines; unlabeled health products; indecent adult toys.

(4) Products prohibited from sale on the Thailand site include: tobacco, e-cigarettes or hookahs; weapons; alcohol products; sex toys; counterfeit or restricted drugs; machines containing chlorofluorocarbons; bubble blowing and bubble gum; food containers that may be contaminated with lead; diamonds from Sierra Leone; plants.

(5) Products prohibited from sale on the Philippines site include: adulterated and inferior food; fresh shrimps and prawns; tobacco; weapons (including toy pistols and imitation guns); drugs and equipment used for abortion; products containing rare metals (such as gold and silver).

In addition to the above banned products, some brands have obtained exclusive authorization and are sold exclusively on Lazada’s famous Chinese site, so sellers on other sites cannot sell them.

(1) Brands banned from sale on the Malaysian site include: Meizu, Xiaomi, BOSE, beats by dr. dre.

(2) Brands banned from sale on the Singapore site include: JAYS’s H series, OPPO, and BOSE.

(3) Brands banned from sale on the Thai site include: OnePlus’s 1+one mobile phone.

(4) Brands banned from sale on the Philippine site include: Huawei’s Honor 6, ZTE, Xiaomi, and Meizu.

(5) There are relatively more banned brands on the Indonesian site, distributed in four categories: electronic products, home appliances, home life, and travel bags.

If the seller violates the above regulations, the Lazada platform will forcibly remove the relevant products, freeze the seller’s account, and even remove all products from the store. In more serious cases, the Lazada platform will report to the judicial authorities and take corresponding legal measures.
