(I) Steps to upload SKU

Step 1: Log in to your MercadoLibre platform seller account.

Step 2: Go to “Flat File” and select “Upload Files”.

Step 3: Select the file from your computer and click “Upload”.

Note that the system only accepts CSV files (comma-delimited) with a maximum file size of 7MB. The encoding should be UTF-8.

(II) Flat File Status

After uploading the file, it may take several hours to process. After the file is successfully uploaded, the current file status will be shown on the Upload Files interface.

Pending: The file is in the processing queue and has not yet started processing.

Processing: The system has started processing the file.

Success: The system has processed the file and successfully added the SKU to the MercadoLibre CBT (CBT is the international seller logo) backend.

Error: The system has processed the file but found errors.

After uploading the file, the seller can download the Excel spreadsheet from the “Flat File” interface. If the system finds an error in the file upload, it will generate a file containing SKUs and error messages. Sometimes, sellers will receive both successful upload and error messages from the system. This is normal. This situation often occurs because the seller has filled in part of the uploaded file correctly and part incorrectly. For example, if we uploaded 500 SKUs, we may receive information indicating that 450 SKUs have been successfully uploaded, but at the same time we will also receive a prompt that 50 SKUs have been uploaded incorrectly. This situation usually occurs because the seller uses inappropriate symbols in the product title, product description or other text.
