After the goods are put into storage, the follow-up management of imported products needs to be carried out, mainly including:

1. Management of the entry and exit of imported goods

After the imported goods are put into storage, the importer needs to check the warehouse irregularly according to the needs of business development to ensure that the business department has a grasp of the inventory and arrange the purchase and replenishment in time.

In the domestic sales link, in order to control business risks, it is generally required to ship the goods upon receipt of payment. For example, the buyer pays in one lump sum and picks up the goods in one lump sum; the buyer pays in part and picks up the goods in part; the buyer uses the deposit as the last payment. The quantity of goods picked up each time is proposed by the merchandiser, and the financial staff signs and confirms after reviewing the funds received, and the manager signs and agrees to ship the goods. At this time, the merchandiser can issue the outbound D/O and notify the warehouse and the consignee.

2. Management of import foreign exchange write-off

Foreign exchange write-off has been changed from carrying import documents to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange to handle foreign exchange write-off procedures within the prescribed time (within one month after the import declaration of the goods) to total write-off. Importing enterprises do not need to submit import documents for foreign exchange write-off one by one.

When the total amount of an enterprise’s import declarations and the total amount of foreign exchange payments differ greatly, it may be supervised and audited by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. If an enterprise receives a verification notice from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, it must sort out the import documents one by one and report them to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, explaining the foreign exchange payment and the customs declaration of imported goods.

3. After-sales service of imported products

The so-called after-sales service of imported products refers to a series of services provided by the importer to consumers after the product is sold to consumers, including product introduction, delivery, installation, commissioning, maintenance, technical training, door-to-door service, etc. It is both a marketing process and the beginning of remarketing.

4. Recall of unqualified products

The recall process of unqualified products includes two situations: enterprise-initiated recall and compulsory recall.

In both cases, compulsory recall is a requirement for maximizing the overall interests of society. Compulsory recall will have a serious impact on the commercial reputation of manufacturers.

If the relevant government authorities finally determine after evaluation that the product has defects that may cause serious harm, the company should immediately start to formulate a recall plan and implement the recall. This process is called active recall. If the company conceals the defects and refuses to fulfill its reporting obligations, and still refuses to recall when the competent authorities require a recall or the court requires a recall through a judgment, the government will force the company to enter the recall implementation stage. This process is called compulsory recall.
