Recently, eBay released a new announcement, stating that eBay will replace the Fast’NFree badge with more detailed shipping information to intuitively display the seller’s shipping speed.
eBay said that faster shipping speeds and clear delivery dates are important information that consumers pay attention to when they see listings. In order to help sellers clarify the shipping speed and thereby improve sales, eBay will replace the Fast’NFree badge with a new message that can display the delivery speed in advance, helping consumers more easily identify the fastest arriving products.
Prior to this, listings with the Fast’NFree badge usually needed to meet the conditions of delivery within 4 days, free shipping, shipping coverage of 48 contiguous states in the United States, no default shipping option of “local pickup or freight”, and not being listed in the form of ClassifiedAd.
The Fast’NFree badge focuses on listings that arrive within four working days and does not include other detailed information that buyers need. However, given the current pessimistic logistics situation, these conditions have obviously become less applicable. Therefore, eBay has launched a simpler and more practical design for this feature. The way to evaluate the delivery date has not changed and is still based on the seller’s processing time, location and delivery service provided.
However, the announcement also stated that this feature is still under testing and will continue to be changed based on user feedback and field testing.
The announcement said that sellers do not need to take any action and the qualification criteria have not changed. Listings showing the Fast’NFree badge will automatically update to the new message. Sellers only need to continue to provide competitive transportation such as free shipping, same-day or one-day processing, uploading detailed tracking information of the product, or expected arrival within four working days to obtain this qualification.
In 2020, e-commerce has made great progress all over the world. Not only old e-commerce companies such as Amazon and eBay, but also some new e-commerce companies have frequently emerged. This has provided a good environment for cross-border e-commerce and brought a certain sense of crisis to major e-commerce giants.
Whether it is Amazon, eBay or AliExpress, they are constantly innovating and improving their services to consolidate their position. The new measures launched by eBay this time seem to be another effort to solve the logistics problems that have not improved for a long time in addition to the seller protection measures. It also shows its concern for logistics problems, and sellers are also quite recognized for this.
