With the advantages of reaching a large number of members, easily enjoying next-day/next-day delivery services, and all-weather professional customer service, Amazon Logistics has also become a logistics and distribution model favored by global cross-border e-commerce sellers. So, when a seller chooses this logistics distribution model, what are the specific requirements for Amazon’s FBA specifications?
Amazon Logistics, the full English name is Fulfillment By Amazon, is also called FBA by many cross-border sellers. This means that global sellers package and send the goods for sale to the warehouse of Amazon’s operation center for unified warehousing. If a cross-border buyer places an order through the Amazon platform, the purchased product will be sorted, packaged and distributed in the Amazon FBA warehouse until it is delivered to the customer.
During this period, the Amazon operation center can also provide customer services such as buyer consultation and returns for these products, helping sellers save manpower, material and financial resources. For many Chinese sellers who go overseas, delivering goods to overseas Amazon warehouses in advance, and having Amazon complete subsequent distribution and after-sales services, can be said to have solved the most troublesome cross-border logistics and distribution link, and the delivery time has also been greatly improved.
At present, Amazon’s FBA specifications vary depending on the storage location, and the specific requirements are also different. For example, Amazon FBA US and European stations require that the weight of a single outer box entered by cross-border e-commerce sellers cannot exceed 22.7kg. This is also a rigid standard requirement established by US FBA based on cargo operation efficiency. If a single outer box exceeds this weight value, “Team Lift” labels need to be posted around and above the outer box to remind the transporters that the product is overweight and everyone needs to work together to move it. The FBA Japan station requires that the product weight does not exceed Japan’s 15kg, and overweight labels must be affixed around and above the outer box exceeding this weight.
In addition, FBA stations also have strict regulations on the size of product outer packaging. Generally, the length, width, and height are required to not exceed 25 inches, or approximately 63.5cm. If it exceeds this size, it needs to be placed uniformly on the pallet for packaging and warehousing. The size of a single pallet is 1.2 meters × 1 meter × 1.8 meters. The upper limit of weight is 1000kg in the UK station and 500kg in other countries. The Japanese station stipulates that large pallets are not required.
For cross-border sellers, the Amazon FBA logistics model solves the problems of long cross-border transportation times and long distances, and provides more convenient terminal distribution links such as warehousing and packaging, logistics, and distribution. Based on this, when choosing FBA, you need to consider different warehousing destinations, combine Amazon’s FBA specifications, standardize operations, reasonably arrange inventory, and easily go overseas.
