Storage fees are charged based on the average daily volume (in cubic feet) occupied by the seller’s inventory in Amazon’s fulfillment centers. Volume measurements are based on Amazon Fulfillment policies and the dimensions of the product that require it to be properly packaged and ready for shipping. FBA inventory storage fees are divided into monthly inventory storage fees and long-term inventory storage fees.
1. Monthly storage fees
Storage fees vary by product size segment and month. Amazon generally charges the storage fee for the previous month between the 7th and 15th of the following month. For example, if a seller wants to view inventory storage fees for January, they need to refer to the payment report for February, which contains transaction information from February 7th to 15th.
2. Long-term storage fees are in addition to monthly inventory storage fees. All inventory sold after being delivered to the Amazon fulfillment center or 180 days later but not reaching the established inventory count date (February 15 and August 15) does not need to pay long-term storage fees. Likewise, any inventory requested for removal prior to the inventory count date will not be subject to long-term storage fees.
Starting from September 15, 2018, long-term storage fees will be adjusted, and the assessment date will be changed from semi-annual to monthly. These changes also affect storage fees for the Multi-Channel Fulfillment program and the FBA Small and Light program.
On August 15, 2018, Amazon will charge a minimum per-unit fee of $0.50 per month for items stored in Amazon fulfillment centers for 365 days or longer. For an item, the final long-term storage fee will be the greater of the applicable total long-term storage fee or the minimum long-term storage fee. These changes also affect storage fees for the Multi-Channel Fulfillment program and the FBA Small and Light program.
Sellers can use the Inventory Age Report and Inventory Status Report to identify the ASINs in their inventory that are subject to long-term storage fees. For each ASIN, sellers can view the inventory according to the time it has been stored in the Amazon fulfillment center, including the following types of inventory:
·0~90 days of inventory;
· 91~180 days of inventory;
·181~270 days of inventory
·271~365 days of inventory

In addition, the Suggested Removal Report can also help sellers identify items subject to long-term storage fees. This report automatically calculates the number of products for which sellers need to pay long-term storage fees by ASIN, and pre-fills a removal order request for these products to remind sellers to remove these orders to avoid paying long-term storage fees. Note that this report only identifies items subject to long-term storage fees within the 6 weeks prior to each inventory date.
