The language of most cross-border e-commerce platforms is English, and there are also some minor languages. Sellers need to have basic English proficiency. If you are an international student or have passed the CET-8 English major exam, then operating on the Amazon platform is still very advantageous. However, a large number of people have average English proficiency and need to write authentic products. Copywriting is somewhat difficult.

My many years of Amazon operation experience prove that English is not the most important, the most important thing is the product. English is often a usage habit. After you have been operating on the Amazon platform for half a year, you will get used to turning on the computer and the screen will be full of English, but you will not be used to it when a few Chinese characters suddenly appear.

The seller’s understanding of the product and his familiarity with the product are the determining factors for writing high-quality product copy.

Currently, the operators of many Amazon companies with hundreds of employees are only responsible for the products of their own accounts. They only face product pictures every day and consider what keywords are accurate and have high traffic, but they don’t even know the products. Seen it, never touched it. Suppose you have a product in your hand that you can’t even pronounce the name of. What does it matter no matter how good your English is?

Poor English is not an excuse for you not to be able to do cross-border e-commerce. .

Take the mountaineering bag product as an example. Suppose you don’t know what the English word for mountaineering bag is. What should you do? The specific steps are as follows.

First, write the three Chinese characters for “mountain climbing bag” into the translation software. It is recommended to use Google Translate and Youdao Translate, as shown in Figure 6.12. Different translation software produces different translation results.

Then, search the different English words translated by these two translation software on Amazon US site and search the results.

From our daily impressions of the appearance of the mountaineering bag product, we can see that the search results are different. You probably know that the search results for the word backpacks are more accurate.

Let’s click on a product page in backpacks.

The product details page, the advertising space below the details page and the comparison chart of similar products. Finally, we click on all these similar products, at least 10 of them, copy and paste the title of each product one by one, and put it in a Word document.

This is just a demonstration, only 3 titles are copied and pasted. What needs to be noted with this method is that you must not copy or paste other people’s brand names into it, otherwise it will be judged as infringement by the platform. The brand name has no connotation, it is just the brand name of the product.

After collecting 10 to 20 titles, you will have an accurate understanding of the product and can make a basic description.

The title written in this way can achieve at least 80 points. But if you want to write more authentic American English titles and British English titles, you need to go to some e-commerce platforms in the United States to see how similar products are written. The Wal-Mart e-commerce platform in the United States is also well-known. The website is www.walmart.com, and the keyword backpacks is a more accurate search just now.

They are all American sellers, so the titles written are very authentic. American English or British English, the method is the same as above, you need to collect at least 10 product titles, and finally write and summarize based on the previous Amazon product titles
