Amazon’s backend directly assigns a delivery address to the goods, but the Amazon system allocates the seller’s goods based on big data. The allocation principle is to assume that the seller’s products are sold more in the eastern region of the United States than in the western United States. If there are few sales in the region, a large part of the goods will be allocated to warehouses in the eastern United States for storage. In this way, when customers in the eastern United States place an order, it will be delivered as quickly as possible. This is also a strong competitive barrier established by Amazon relying on its own big data. When you have 100 kilograms of goods, if they are evenly distributed to three warehouses with different addresses, each address will only have about 33 kilograms; but when the logistics company delivers the goods, the heavier the weight, the lower the unit price of transportation. Because logistics companies calculate logistics fees based on different addresses, if the goods are 100 kilograms, the logistics fees may be calculated as 30 yuan/kg. If the goods are 33 kg, the logistics fees may be calculated as 32-35 yuan/kg.
At this time, we need to use the warehouse closing technique in the backend of the Seller Center, so that all goods can be placed in the warehouse at the same address.
Enter the Seller Center backend and select “Settings” – “Amazon Logistics”.
As long as it is a professional seller account that opens stores around the world, it will have Amazon logistics services.
In the “Storage Settings” option, click the “Edit” button, and the page shown in Figure 3.20 will appear.
Select “Inventory Configuration Service”, which means sending a single SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) to the same warehouse. However, if there are too many SKUs, there will still be a small number of SKUs assigned different addresses. . This is completely sufficient for new sellers and is also a very practical skill. It should be noted that if you use the warehouse closing service, a service fee of US$0.3 will be charged for each product. Sellers can choose whether they need this service based on their own circumstances.
