Founded in 2004, DHgate.com is one of the earliest e-commerce platforms in China engaged in cross-border transactions. Many cross-border platforms of the same period were mainly based on information matching.
After 15 years of development, DHgate.com has become a leader in the cross-border B2B transaction track. Unlike other B2C cross-border e-commerce platforms, merchants on DHgate.com do not target end consumers in other countries, but online and offline small and medium-sized retailers in target countries. Many small and medium-sized retailers in countries lacking industrial supply chains will purchase goods from Chinese factories in small batches and frequently through DHgate.com, and then sell them to end consumers through Amazon, eBay and local e-commerce platforms.
As the main online procurement channel for small and medium-sized retailers in many countries, DHgate.com has an enviable and stable repurchase rate of old customers and a higher average order value than traditional B2C platforms. As of June 2019, DHgate.com has more than 25 million overseas customers, and more than 2 million overseas small and medium-sized retailers actively and regularly purchase goods every year.
DHgate also has its own cross-border payment tool DHpay and its own cross-border logistics system DHlink.
