As we all know, the development of cross-border e-commerce has been booming in the past two years. For novice sellers, logistics, tax declaration, product selection and other links cannot be ignored. Here is a little knowledge about logistics, why the goods are inspected during customs clearance.

First of all, normal customs inspection is necessary, which is the job responsibility of the customs. In addition to the normal inspection of goods in proportion, if the seller’s goods are often detained by customs, there are only the following four problems.

1. Inconsistent weight, exceeding the allowable error range

There is an important data in the packing list called gross weight. Gross weight is a very important data in the customs declaration process.

Some factories estimate the weight in the packing list but do not weigh it. Some factories install less or more during the packaging process, but the data in the packing list is not changed in time, resulting in inconsistency between the declared weight and the actual shipping weight. When the weight exceeds 500 kg, the bell rings, which means that the cabinet is likely to enter the anti-smuggling department.

2. The number of boxes

When inspecting the goods, the customs will first check the number, marks and other appearance characteristics of the outer box. Under normal circumstances, it is allowed to declare a small amount of 500 boxes for import and actually export 480 boxes, which is basically no problem. However, if 500 boxes are declared and 600 boxes are actually installed, the customs may consider it as illegal transportation.

3. Tag problem

Foreign countries attach more importance to intellectual property rights. Imported and exported goods have brands, and they must apply for brands and provide two Chinese and English authorization letters, one is the factory-authorized production authorization letter, and the other is the factory-authorized customs broker. Especially when exporting, the brand is written wrong or the wrong goods are sent because of the rush to deliver the goods.

In short, people with brands say there are no brands, and people without brands say there are brands. The situation is very serious. Big brands may be suspected of illegal transportation.

4. False declaration determination

In view of the inconsistency between the declared content and the documents and the actual objects, the customs will first determine whether there is a subjective intention based on the quantity and amount of the goods.

For small amounts, they shall be modified or revoked in accordance with the “Modification or Revocation of the Entry and Exit Goods Declaration Form” and relevant laws and regulations. If there is no subjective intention, they shall be exempted from punishment. After declaration, you can apply to the customs for modification before customs inspection.

If the amount is large and there is subjective intent to seriously disrupt the normal customs order, the person will face customs administrative penalties.
