During the operation, we sometimes see some sellers following their own sales. We can see that this is a seller who has posted a product and then followed it twice, and each SKU is shipped by FBA. Why would a seller post the same product multiple times by following his own sales and use FBA to ship each SKU? From the perspective of daily shipment, doesn’t it increase the complexity of stocking and shipping? Will such a self-following sales be judged as repeated distribution by the system?
During the operation, when the inventory of a certain FBA-shipped product is less than 20 pieces, a prompt “Only X let in stock – order soon” will appear above the shopping cart on the product details page. When a product has this prompt, the sales of the product will become better than before. Sometimes, in order to connect the next batch of goods before the stock is out of stock, the seller will significantly increase the price, but it can still be sold out quickly, which is almost impossible when there is enough inventory.
Why does this happen?
When the inventory quantity of a product is less than 20 pieces, it sells well regardless of the price. Some people say that this is probably a psychological effect! Maybe a little bit, but this situation has been verified in many sellers’ stores. Therefore, it must not be explained only by psychological effects.
In fact, a more accurate explanation is that when the FBA inventory quantity of a certain product is close to being out of stock, Amazon will give it a weighting, and the rush to buy mentality formed by consumers seeing the prompt that the inventory quantity is about to be out of stock has contributed to the hot sales of a small amount of inventory.
When a product is sold out during the price increase, it is a joy and a distress for the seller. If it is still sold out after the price is raised, it means that the sales volume is good and money is made, which is naturally gratifying; but thinking that the out-of-stock may cause the sales volume of the next batch of goods to drop sharply after entering the warehouse and putting on the shelves, it is also very anxious. What methods should be adopted to reduce the occurrence of out-of-stock and make more profits at the same time?
Some sellers take the method. Convert a product into 3 SKUs through self-selling, and ship each SKU separately. In this case, you can split the original inventory of the same batch of shipments, ship the three SKUs separately, and then set slightly different prices for the three SKUs. The lowest price is the price at the expected profit level. For the same product and the same seller, the SKU with the lowest price gets the shopping cart first, and the price at this time is the expected price for the seller to have a reasonable profit. As the inventory quantity of the first SKU gradually decreases, when the inventory quantity is less than 20 pieces, the prompt “Only X left in stock – ordersoon” will appear on the product page. Generally speaking, the sales speed is faster at this time, and you can even increase the price of the first SKU appropriately (the price after the price increase should be lower than the price of other SKUs). When the first SKU is sold out, adjust the price of the second SKU to a reasonable profit level. At this time, the second SKU is the lowest price, and it starts to occupy the shopping cart and takes over, followed by the third SKU… In this way, a product that would originally only have one out-of-stock prompt can get 3 exposures and weight increase opportunities with the same amount of inventory.
We certainly don’t want a hot-selling product to be out of stock, so when the first SKU is sold out and the second SKU takes over, we can restock the first SKU, and so on. Such a simple inventory adjustment can increase the chances of gaining more weight for our operations. Isn’t it wonderful!
The operation of the Amazon platform, in the final analysis, is a refined adjustment based on the basic rules of the platform. If a detail is well grasped, it may bring about an improvement in operation. This is the way to obtain more traffic before out of stock through self-selling. Interested sellers may wish to try it.
