On the eBay platform, both sellers and buyers can cancel orders. Buyers who cancel orders will not be affected in any way, but sellers who cancel orders for their own reasons will have their ratings affected. How does eBay cancel orders work?
If the seller cannot complete the transaction normally due to product issues, he/she can apply for order cancellation. If the buyer has successfully paid, the seller can cancel the order in the following ways: (1) Negotiate with the buyer to confirm receipt of the refund. The seller needs the buyer to confirm receipt of the refund in order to receive the refunded transaction fee. The seller and the buyer can negotiate in a friendly manner and have the buyer confirm receipt of the refund after receiving the eBay notification. (2) Cancel the transaction at eBay’s Dispute Resolution Center. The seller can apply at eBay’s Dispute Resolution Center. The Dispute Resolution Center will establish a dialogue between the seller and the buyer in the backend system and conduct mediation and tracking.
The seller needs to apply for a case at the Dispute Resolution Center within 30 days of completing the transaction. When the seller cancels the order, if PayPal is used for payment, the transaction fee will be refunded within 10 working days. If PayPal is not used for payment, the transaction fee will be refunded within 10 working days after the buyer confirms receipt of the refund. If the buyer does not confirm receipt of the refund within 10 working days, the seller will not receive the transaction fee. In order to lower the seller rating, the seller should try to reduce order cancellations.
eBay order cancellation steps:
1. Log in to the eBay official website through the browser and open the “My eBay” page.
2. After entering the “My eBay” page, select [Account] on the page to open the “Account” page.
3. After entering the “Account” page, click “Resolution Center” in the left sidebar of the page to open the “Resolution Center” page.
4. After entering the “Resolution Center” page, select [I need to cancel a transaction] on the “I sold an item” page, and then select [Continue] to enter the “Customer Service” page.
5. After entering the “Customer Service” page, select the order that needs to be canceled, enter the “Cancel Order” page, and select “Cancel Order”. If there are too many orders, you can directly search for the product number or buyer account to cancel.
