Regarding the title writing method, we can follow the official recommendations of Amazon, or we can give full play to our subjective initiative to create. We must comply with the rigid requirements of the title, otherwise the product details page will face the risk of being removed from the shelves by Amazon. So when writing product titles, what “red lines” cannot be touched?

1. Length

Product titles can usually use up to 200 characters. However, Amazon allows some product categories to use longer or shorter names. If a specific category stipulates that the product title should use fewer characters, for example, the upper limit of the title of Home Improvement is 50 characters, then the seller should write the title according to the maximum of 50 characters.

2. Capitalization

The first letter of each word in the title should be capitalized, but do not use all capital letters. Conjunctions (and, or, for) and articles (the, a, an) must not be capitalized. Do not capitalize prepositions (in, on over, with) with less than 5 letters.

3. Numbers and Symbols

You can use Arabic numerals (2, not two) in the title, and spell out the measurement units (6 inches, not 6"). However, do not use symbols, such as ~!*$?[]#<>|*;/^-!, and do not use high-ASCII characters.

4. Product Information

You can include size and color in the title of the sub-ASIN of the variant product. However, the title should not include price or promotional information, such as “sale” or “free ship”. Do not use subjective evaluation terms, such as “Hot Item” or “Best Seller”. Sellers are not allowed to use the seller’s name in brand or manufacturer information unless the seller’s product is a private label. These banned words must not be written in the product title.
