Some friends asked, why do I still not get any orders after uploading hundreds of products to my Shopee store?
1. The product price may be too high. One way to set a price is to refer to the pricing of peer products on the platform, but I found that few people would do this step. They often update their own products without even looking at others. In this way, sometimes the price is too high, and your price may even be 2-3 times that of the same product.
You are not the only one selling on the platform, there are even dozens or even hundreds of them, so your product may have many similar ones. If your price is much higher than others, and there is no accumulation of sales and reviews, it is almost impossible to sell it.
Another common situation is that the prices of some hot-selling products are very low, and sometimes there is almost no profit. I suggest making this kind of product, even if there is no profit, you can also use it as a “traffic diversion” role.
Shopee has a policy of free shipping for full **, and sometimes buyers will buy it together in order to get free shipping, and make money from other products. From this perspective, we should also pay attention to the matching problem when launching new products. Don’t put all the same kind of products on the shelves. For example, in clothing stores, clothes, pants, shoes, socks and bags can all be put on the shelves.
2. Not enough products are launched. Shopee officially encourages the distribution of goods. If you keep the rhythm of launching new products, such as 10-20 products per day, you can get more support for new product traffic. Don’t use the long-term hot-selling method of a few domestic boutiques to do Southeast Asia, because the Southeast Asian market is scattered, and there are not many people in each country, unlike China, where there are more than one billion people and only one Taobao.
Even if you may start to receive orders after launching dozens of products, it is still recommended to launch more, otherwise you will encounter bottlenecks after selling a certain amount and you can’t go up.
3. The product may not be suitable. Let’s take an example from Mike. There was a friend who uploaded down jackets in Southeast Asian countries. Selling down jackets in a country where it is summer all year round is really just a Buddhist way to get orders and go with the flow. This example is a bit exaggerated, but it is a real example around us. Sometimes, just changing the product will make someone fall into the pit again.
For example, when selling shoes, have you launched snow boots? Or thickened and velvet ones? Have you added more sandals? Selling clothes, have you accidentally or are you preparing to sell long sleeves and coats in the next domestic season change? (In addition, friends who sell clothes, if you have the ability to find a long-term supply chain for summer production, you will definitely surpass many sellers easily)
In addition to seasons, there are also religions. In two Muslim countries, Indonesia and Malaysia, Muslims are more taboo about pigs (and don’t like dogs too much). If you follow the previous Peppa Pig hot spots to sell products, it will not only be difficult to sell, but may even cause some old customers to be disgusted.
4. Not being a preferred seller. Preferred sellers are very important, and this is worth emphasizing again and again. When I first broke through the single digits in the number of orders, I think the most important point is to be preferred. Because it will not only make your overall weight higher, but also because of the factor of Shopee coins, it will make you have a higher conversion.
Even if you don’t have sales and reviews for some products at the beginning, with the label of preferred sellers, you can definitely dispel the concerns of buyers, just like we used to only recognize crown stores on Taobao.
After placing orders one after another, set a small goal and be the preferred seller first.
