Creating a Removal Order Using Online Workflow
This page describes the process for creating a removal order using online workflow.
Follow these steps to request the removal of inventory stored in Amazon fulfilment centres using the Monthly Inventory History screen:
Check the boxes next to the items you want removed from Amazon fulfilment centres.
Select ‘Create Removal Order’ from the Apply to selected items drop-down menu.
Click ‘Confirm’.
If you want to remove all non-replenishable items, follow these steps:
Find the non-replenishable items. (Sort the ‘Non-replenishable’ column in descending order or use Advanced Search to find ‘Non-replenishable items’.)
In any column where the non-replenishable quantity is greater than zero, click the non-replenishable quantity.
Select the ‘Create Removal Order for All Non-replenishable Inventory’ option and click ‘Submit’.
This will lead to the removal workflow, which consists of 3 steps:
Provide details
Removal method: Indicate whether you want the items shipped to you or disposed of.
Shipping Address: If you selected to have the items shipped to you, your default return shipping address will automatically populate (editable). If you selected to discard, leave this field blank.
Set Order ID: Use the default order ID or create your own.
Specify Order Items: This section will automatically populate with the items you selected on the Amazon Inventory page. Select the quantity of the item you wish to remove. You can select quantities from either fulfillable or non-fulfillable inventory. You can also search for other inventory to add or remove items from your list.
Review and Place Order
Review the items you selected to make sure the SKU, condition, and quantity are for the correct item.
Review the Order Summary. This includes shipping speed, estimated cost and weight, and shipping address.
Click Place Order to accept the charges.
Note: You can cancel your removal order before it is shipped by clicking the Cancel Order button on the removal order details page.
Order Summary
The Order Summary is a summary of the items you submitted for removal. Write down the Removal Order ID for later reference. Go to Manage Orders, find the Removal Order ID, and click on the order ID to return to this page. This allows you to monitor the status of your removal order or cancel it.
When you submit a return request, it takes 10 to 14 business days for the fulfillment center to pick up, pack, and ship your return inventory. Until the items are picked up from inventory, the deliverable items will continue to be listed on Amazon.com and buyers will still be able to purchase them. If the buyer purchases the item, the remaining items will still be shipped, minus the quantity sold.
Note: If the returned item is located in multiple fulfillment centers, different carriers may be used to ship the return. Returns are shipped only in the continental United States. For other regions, coordinate returns with a third-party freight forwarder.
Go to Amazon Logistics Inventory Returns and Disposal to learn about the associated fees.
