Latvian consumers’ views on online shopping are as follows:

(1) Nearly 80% of Latvian consumers place more emphasis on favorable pricing policies when shopping online.

(2) 71% of Internet users strongly believe that online shopping is not restricted by “opening hours” and that they can shop anytime, anywhere, which is simply awesome.

(3) 69% of users enjoy the fact that they can easily compare products from different stores when shopping online, which is much better than in physical stores. When it comes to the main disadvantages of online shopping, 40% of Latvian consumers mentioned “too long delivery time”; about 35% of consumers feel that they cannot find the necessary information about the target product; and 33% of consumers suffer from not being able to find the product they want at all. It is worth noting that: about 55% of Latvians use price comparison websites before placing an online order; about 28% of Latvian online shoppers say that their online spending will increase in the next year, while 6% believe that it will decrease. The survey shows that online shoppers in Latvia are generally people with high incomes. 18.2% of Latvians frequently shop on domestic and foreign websites, and Latvian men are more enthusiastic about shopping than women. 30 The advantages are as follows.

2. Lithuanian consumers’ views on online shopping

(1) Nearly 70% of Lithuanian consumers like online shopping because the prices are lower than those in physical stores.

(2) 75% of users attach great importance to the convenient online shopping experience without leaving home.

(3) About 70% of users said that home delivery is one of the primary reasons for their online shopping.

In terms of disadvantages, 36% of Lithuanian consumers mentioned “long delivery time”. 33% of online shoppers were dissatisfied with high shipping costs; while 37% said that the products they received did not meet their expectations. Unlike Latvian consumers who use price comparison websites before placing an order, 35% of Lithuanians prefer to ask their friends or family for recommendations. One-third of Lithuanian consumers said that their online spending will increase in the coming year, while only 3% think it will decrease.

According to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office in Lithuania in March 2018: Chinese e-commerce platforms have set off an online shopping boom in Lithuania, promoting the development of Lithuania’s express delivery industry. According to Lithuanian express delivery companies, by 2022, the total volume of express parcels sent from China to Lithuania will increase by more than 50%. Most of the products purchased online by Lithuanian residents from China are electronic product accessories, small electrical appliances, clothing and jewelry.
