(1) Composition of FBA fees
FBA is only responsible for local delivery, not for the transportation and customs clearance before the goods arrive at the FBA warehouse, which is called the FBA first leg. There are generally four ways to do the FBA first leg: international express, FBA dedicated line, FBA first leg and overseas warehouse transfer.
FBA fees generally consist of five parts: order delivery fee, FBA inventory storage fee, order removal fee, return processing fee and other processing service fees.
(2) Calculation of FBA fees
There are two ways to calculate FBA fees: the first is to use the FBA calculator, which is simple to operate and can be learned in one go. The disadvantage is that you cannot know how the detailed fees are obtained: the second is to calculate the corresponding fees based on the FBA fee details rules, and then flexibly plan reasonably based on these fee details rules.
①Use FBA calculator (LED light)
Open the Amazon seller account and search for the name of the product you are selling. Assuming that the product you are selling is an LED lamp, find the “Tools & Home Improvement” category. Then find a product that is most similar to the product you are selling, open this product page, and find the ASIN code of this product.
Copy the ASIN code “B004P3IRW6” for backup, open the FBA calculator, paste “B004P3IRW6” into the column and click the “Search” button. Set “Product Dimensions” to 11.8X 11.8X4 inches (inches), “Uint Weight” to 35 pounds (pounds), and then click the “Calculate” button in the lower right corner to calculate it.
②Refer to the corresponding standards and calculate the costs yourself
FBA costs = order delivery fee + FBA inventory storage fee + removal order fee (return processing fee) + unplanned processing service fee. When calculating, sellers need to go to the FBA official website to check the relevant fees, and then calculate according to this formula.
Sellers should note that Amazon’s logistics fees are adjusted every year to reflect the changing costs of delivery, transportation and customer service. Sellers can view relevant fee adjustment notifications through the Amazon Seller Center backend.
Starting from February 15, 2019, sellers with inventory in Amazon’s operations center can enjoy preferential benefits such as reduction or even exemption of long-term storage fees. Among them, products that have been stored in the operations center for 181-365 days only need to pay the previous long-term storage fee on January 15, 2019. After that, if the inventory age is less than 1 year, the long-term storage fee can be exempted. However, dangerous goods containing flammable or pressurized aerosol substances are still subject to higher monthly storage fees, and the monthly storage fees for other products will remain unchanged.
