After choosing the FBM logistics channel, sellers need to make some settings in the Amazon backend before they can officially ship the goods. In order for sellers to correctly perform relevant operations in the Amazon backend, the following guides sellers to learn the backend operations of the FBM logistics model from three aspects: delivery settings, return settings, and order processing.

1. Delivery settings

When sellers ship goods, due to different foreign address areas, the distance and cost of logistics transportation will also change accordingly. Sellers can make relevant logistics and delivery settings in the Amazon backend according to their own situation. In the delivery settings, sellers need to set up logistics freight templates.

When setting the freight template, there are two setting methods for sellers to choose from: Price Banded (delivery by product price in segments) and Per Item/Weight-Based (determine the freight by the number or weight of the product).

After the seller chooses the freight setting method, he can start to select the arrival area in the freight template according to his own situation.

The freight template also needs to set the address type, logistics speed, freight cost, etc.

It is worth mentioning that sellers can set multiple shipping templates at the same time, so that they can change the shipping templates when selling goods. For example, sellers can set daily shipping templates and promotional shipping templates. Whenever there is a big holiday promotion, the seller’s orders will increase, and the shipping fee will also increase accordingly. At this time, the seller can replace the daily shipping template with the promotional shipping template. The seller can also set the shipping fee to $0, so that the product can be free of shipping.

2. Return settings

When the product arrives in the hands of the buyer, sometimes the buyer wants to return it for some reasons (such as damaged goods, inconsistent with the description, etc.). Therefore, the seller also needs to set some return content related settings such as return address and return conditions to ensure that the buyer can return the goods smoothly. The return settings of the Amazon product backend mainly include general settings, non-return settings, and return address settings.

(1) General settings

In the general settings, sellers can formulate and set some return standard instructions. Then, when the buyer returns the product, the Amazon platform can choose to handle it independently or notify the seller to handle it according to the return standards set by the seller.

(2) Unable to return settings

In the unreturnable settings, the seller can set relevant rules to explain under what circumstances the product cannot be returned.

For example, if a product is damaged due to the buyer’s personal reasons, which is not the seller’s product quality or logistics problems, and the seller does not accept returns and refunds caused by such problems, then the seller needs to add this rule in the unreturnable settings, and Amazon will reject the buyer’s return application when reviewing it.

(3) Return address settings

If the buyer’s return application meets the seller’s return conditions, then the seller needs to provide the buyer with an address to send the product back.

3. Order processing

When the store generates an order, the seller needs to ship the sold goods through the logistics channel. The seller mainly uses the “Order” tab under the TAB function module to view and process orders. The “Orders” tab mainly includes three sub-tabs: “Manage Orders”, “Order Reports” and “Manage Returns”.

(1) Manage Orders

In the “Manage Orders” sub-tab, sellers can view orders in the waiting (added to the shopping cart but not paid), unshipped, canceled, shipped and other states.

In this sub-tab, sellers can also query orders based on order number, buyer’s name and other information, and then manage the orders accordingly.

(2) Order Report

In the “Order Report” sub-tab, sellers can apply for archived order reports on a monthly basis. The order report includes product information, transaction price, buyer’s personal information, etc. for sellers to view.

(3) Manage Returns

In the “Manage Returns” sub-tab, sellers can view the information of return orders in the store, which include approved return orders, completed return orders and closed return orders.
