In April 2015, AliExpress celebrated its fifth anniversary. In an interview with a reporter, General Manager Shen Difan described the positioning of AliExpress as a world store: “On AliExpress, there are European and American branded goods, quality goods made in China, Japanese blue and white porcelain, and Nepalese Buddhist beads. What’s more interesting is that the natives of an African tribe hunt during the day and grind cattle bones into handicrafts by the campfire at night, which are also sold on AliExpress.”

As a star-level cross-border e-commerce platform of Alibaba Group, AliExpress inherits Alibaba’s excellent traditions, powerful platform functions, and a large number of platform sellers and products. At present, AliExpress has developed into the world’s largest cross-border e-commerce platform. From 2010 to 2014, the transaction volume of Alibaba’s AliExpress maintained an annual growth of 300% to 500%.
