Currently, there are five types of overseas warehouse construction for cross-border e-commerce in China:

*Government-led public overseas warehouse

Government-led overseas warehouse public projects are government-led public services, which are generally used in conjunction with bonded areas. The government generally provides certain support for such overseas warehouse projects for cross-border e-commerce, but its focus is on a small number of enterprises. Many small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises, especially individual cross-border e-commerce enterprises, basically find it difficult to enjoy such overseas warehouse services.

*Cross-border platform overseas warehouse

Cross-border platform overseas warehouses include Alibaba’s “AliExpress” cross-border overseas warehouse, eBay’s China overseas warehouse, Dunhuang.com overseas warehouse, etc. This type of platform overseas warehouse has the closest relationship with small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce companies, is the most operational, and has a relatively reasonable charge. However, the biggest problem is that from a long-term perspective, this type of overseas warehouse more reflects the intention and orientation of the cross-border e-commerce platform itself. When cross-border enterprises develop to a certain scale, there will often be conflicts between platform rules and enterprise rules.

*Overseas warehouses established by large IT e-commerce companies

Chinese e-commerce companies Jumei and JD.com have their own overseas warehouse projects. This type of overseas warehouse is often large in scale and relatively powerful, but the original purpose of this type of overseas warehouse is for cross-border transactions of self-operated products of e-commerce platforms. In the actual operation of overseas warehouses, self-operated categories and other stored goods will be treated differently. Some overseas warehouse projects established by large IT companies may not be the best in terms of professionalism and experience because they have less experience in logistics operations, customer maintenance, and customer after-sales services.

*International express agency companies transform into overseas warehouses

There are already many such overseas warehouse projects. Because of the foundation of international express delivery, these overseas warehouses often have many e-commerce customers, but China’s private express delivery industry is uneven in quality, and the reality of overseas warehouses is that customer complaints and bad experiences often occur.

* Overseas warehouses established by overseas Chinese

Due to the strong market demand for cross-border e-commerce, many Chinese in Europe, the United States, and especially Australia have started private overseas warehouse projects, such as using their own private garages and warehouses, and hiring a few Mexicans or blacks as workers. However, this type of private overseas warehouse will have very large market risks, and there have always been doubts about the legality of taxation. It is recommended that you use it with caution.
