Rules for describing items when listing on eBay:
When describing items for sale, the following actions may infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
(1) Using item descriptions or images from other eBay users without authorization.
(2) Using images from manufacturers or other Internet sites without authorization.
(3) Improper use of eBay-owned intellectual property, including use of eBay’s name, logo, or links to eBay’s website.
(4) Including an “authenticity disclaimer” in the listing information, or refusing to be responsible for the items listed.
(5) Encouraging or encouraging others to infringe third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
eBay users may not use text or image content created by others, including photos and other images, unless authorized by the text and image owner, agent, or applicable law. Users may use images and text descriptions provided in the eBay product catalog in their item descriptions. The product catalog may include images or photos created by the seller that are part of the seller’s items. If a user chooses not to use images or product descriptions from the eBay product catalog, a good way to ensure that the user complies with the policy is to take your own photos and write your own item descriptions.
