1. Differences in regional distribution
Domestic e-commerce logistics has developed to form a relatively comprehensive logistics network. Except for remote areas that take a long time, the logistics convenience in economically developed areas is already relatively high, such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and other provinces and cities. However, cross-border e-commerce logistics involves different countries (regions). The layout and construction of logistics networks need to face different political environments and legal and regulatory constraints. The construction is difficult, and there are large differences in logistics between developed countries (regions) and underdeveloped countries (regions).
2. Different standardization requirements
The standardization requirements for cross-border e-commerce logistics are higher than those for domestic logistics. For example, liquids, powders, health products, food, animal fur products, etc., different countries (regions) have different requirements. If there is no certification from the destination country (region), it is impossible to transport the products in. Some countries (regions) will also prohibit the entry of these products.
The future development trend of cross-border e-commerce is intensive and integrated, with orderly division of labor and collaborative cooperation among members of the industrial chain. For cross-border e-commerce, the creation of a supply chain is the preferred method to achieve an increase in corporate conversion volume. Under the background of global consumer demand and experience upgrade, the cross-border e-commerce supply chain has been given new connotations, and higher requirements have been put forward for cross-border logistics. Logistics focuses on the “flow” of goods, and focuses on controlling the efficiency improvement and cost control of warehousing, distribution, and transportation. E-commerce platforms require the cooperation of logistics companies in many aspects such as cargo collection, warehousing, transportation, customs clearance, and distribution. Logistics largely determines the operating efficiency of cross-border e-commerce. Therefore, driven by consumer demand and technology-enabled digital supply chain transformation, the layout of warehousing points and logistics routes can be optimized to improve efficiency.
