After understanding product development and Amazon backend rules, sellers can upload product pages in the store backend. Currently, there are two ways to upload product pages on Amazon, namely, uploading a single product and uploading in batches using inventory templates.
(I) Uploading a single product
Uploading a single product also includes following sales and building new product pages.
1. Following sales
Following sales is a product selling method launched by the Amazon platform. Its purpose is to enable the same products to share the same detail page, thereby bringing consumers a better shopping experience and promoting healthy competition among sellers. Sellers can match existing product information. If other sellers on the platform have already sold the products that the later sellers intend to sell, the later sellers can use the existing display page and only need to fill in the product price and inventory.
So, how to follow sales?
The first step is to match existing product information. Log in to the Amazon seller backend, click “Inventory” “Add New Product” in turn, and then search for the products you want to sell on Amazon. If you use product codes (such as UPC, BAN, ISBN or ASIN) to search, the search results will be more accurate.
Step 2. After finding the product you want to sell, click the “Sell Yours” button to enter the product information page.
Step 3. Enter your product details in the data fields provided, set the appropriate product price, and finally click “Save and finish”.
2. Create a new product page
If the Amazon platform does not have the product you want to sell, or your product is different from the products on sale (including differences in packaging and gifts), then you can create a new product page. The specific steps are as follows.
Step 1. Log in to the Amazon seller backend and click “I want to add a new product that is not sold on Amazon.”
Step 2. Find the category corresponding to the product you want to sell by searching the classification, and then select the category.
Step 3. Fill in the product name, product code, brand, manufacturer, manufacturer part number, manufacturer’s recommended user age limit and other information in the language of the destination country (region) of sale. Among them, the information marked with * is required.
Step 4. After filling in the form, click “Save and Finish” to complete the product release process. Based on the information provided by the seller, the platform will usually publish it on Amazon within 15 minutes, and consumers can then search and browse to find the product.
Please note that if you choose to deliver the product by self-delivery, you also need to click “Advanced View” to select the delivery template and fill in the product delivery weight in “More Details”. If your product contains variants (variants refer to different models of the same product, such as different colors, different sizes, etc.), you need to click “Variations” to fill in the variant information.
(II) Batch upload using inventory templates
If the seller needs to upload a large number of products, he can use the inventory template function to upload products in batches to save time. The steps to batch upload products using inventory templates are as follows.
Step 1. Log in to the Amazon seller backend and click “Inventory”, “Batch upload products”, and “Download inventory files” in sequence.
Step 2. Find the category corresponding to the seller’s product through the search bar or product category bar.
In the third step, select the type of template the seller wants to generate. The Lite version only contains the mandatory attributes related to the selected product and required to create the product in the Amazon catalog; the Advanced version contains all attributes related to the selected product (mandatory, preferred and optional); Custom version sellers can select the attribute group related to the above selected products to be added to the template, including mandatory attributes.
In the fourth step, click “Generate Template”, and the corresponding inventory template will be automatically downloaded to the seller’s computer.
In the fifth step, open the inventory template and fill in the product title, brand name, UPC/EAN, five-line description and other information in turn. If you need to fill in related questions, you can consult the Amazon seller support template team.
In the sixth step, return to the seller’s backend again, click “Inventory – Bulk Upload Products – Upload Inventory Files” in turn, check and upload the inventory file.
