First, let’s take a look at the circumstances under which a removal order needs to be created. The first situation: the unsalable goods generate long-term storage fees, the goods are discontinued, or other seller reasons require the existing FBA inventory to be delivered to self-built or third-party overseas warehouses. The second situation: the seller’s FBA inventory has unfulfillable (unsaleable) goods. The reasons for unsaleable goods may be as follows:

1. Damage during transportation

Amazon FBA will check each product after receiving the goods sent by the seller. If the label of the product is damaged, resulting in the scanning of specific information, it cannot be sold; if the packaging of the product is damaged, it may also not be sold; if the product inside the packaging is damaged, it cannot be sold either.

2. Damage caused by Amazon

There are two situations: one is “Warehouse Damage”, which is the damage caused by Amazon in the process of receiving FBA goods into the warehouse; the second situation is “Carrier Damage”, that is, FBA orders (Amazon ships by itself), and the appearance or packaging of the goods received by the buyer is obviously damaged. The buyer contacts Amazon and requests a return. This is damage caused by Amazon during transportation. Amazon will compensate the seller in both cases.

3. Damage caused by the customer

The buyer requested a return after receiving the goods (not due to the performance of the goods), but the goods were damaged during the return process.

4. There is a problem with the goods

After the FBA goods are sent out, the buyer receives the goods, but is dissatisfied with the performance and use of the goods, and contacts Amazon to return the goods.

If the seller does not create a removal order in time within 30 days after the unsaleable inventory is generated, it will not affect the account, but FBA will handle these inventories on its own, all processing costs will be borne by the seller, and additional storage fees will be incurred during the period. Sellers can make a comprehensive assessment based on the category, value, and degree of damage of the unsaleable goods and choose how to deal with the unsaleable goods.

The steps to create a removal order are as follows:

[Step 1] Enter the backend “Manage Inventory” interface, check the goods for which you want to create a removal order, and start creating a removal order (create removal order).

[Step 2] Fill in the specific information of the order to be removed. In this step, you can choose between two removal methods: ship-to-address and dispose. It should be noted that you only need to fill in the delivery address if you choose “ship-to-address”. If you choose “dispose”, Amazon will directly destroy the unsaleable inventory.

[Step 3] Enter the “Check and Place Order” interface, click “Place Order”, and the removal order is created.
