Currently, mobile e-commerce has developed rapidly around the world. The reasons are as follows.

(1) The number of mobile devices has increased. By 2017, the number of mobile phone users worldwide reached 2.6 billion. Mobile shopping has quickly changed from a consumption function to the preferred mode of consumption. Consumers use mobile phones to visit e-commerce websites more frequently than any other device, making mobile shopping a top priority for retailers.

(2) Mobile shopping has become common. 75% of mobile Internet users worldwide have purchased goods or services on mobile devices; consumers who have purchased goods on mobile devices said that 1/3 of their consumer spending was achieved on mobile devices; mobile shopping has become a habit, and nearly 1/4 of consumers consume on mobile devices every week.

(3) Resistance has been reduced. The difficulties that previously seriously hindered the development of mobile e-commerce are being solved one by one, especially in terms of payment methods and identity authentication. E-commerce giants are focusing on solving these problems.

(4) APP and mobile network optimization. At present, the performance of smart phones continues to improve and the technology continues to mature, allowing many retailers to meet the diverse consumption needs of consumers through APPs and mobile browsers, which has benefited consumers a lot.

(5) Distributed commerce. Retailers have turned their attention to interacting with consumers through popular and distributed channels, such as social media, messaging, browsers, and online mobile cross-border e-commerce platforms. Mobile devices not only serve as a medium for shoppers to participate, but also help shoppers complete transactions with brands. It no longer matters where shoppers discover these brands.
