Logistics settings are a critical link, which is directly related to the seller’s profit.
When publishing products, the same shipping settings may be used for some products, and it is obviously a waste of time to reset them every time. Therefore, you can set the commonly used shipping combination as a template, and select the corresponding template to apply when publishing products.
1) Standard shipping, seller-borne shipping, and custom shipping in the shipping template
Standard shipping: The AliExpress platform calculates the shipping according to the official quotes given by various logistics service providers. The factors that determine the shipping are usually: the destination of the goods, the weight of the goods packaging, and the volume weight of the goods. If the seller reduces or exempts discounts for different transportation methods, the platform will present the shipping value calculated by adding the discount factor to the official shipping to the buyer who places the order.
Logistics discount (reduction): When the seller contacts the freight forwarding company, the freight forwarding company will give a certain discount (the amount of the discount depends on the agreement between the seller and the freight forwarding company, and the discount for online delivery on the platform can also be used). The seller can fill in this discount information in the product’s shipping discount content to attract buyers to place orders.
Sellers bear the shipping costs: that is, free shipping. Sellers can add the shipping costs to the product price, and the words “free shipping” will appear on the buyer’s display page to attract buyers to place orders.
Custom shipping: You can freely choose to set different shipping types for different countries, including standard shipping, seller-borne shipping, or custom shipping; you can also set shipping costs based on the distribution of the seller’s own buyer group to attract your main group of buyers.
2) Add a new shipping template
step01 Switch to the “Product Management” tab, click the “Shipping Template” hyperlink on the left, and then click the “Add Shipping Template” hyperlink on the right to set the template.
step02 Set a name for the shipping template (Chinese characters cannot be entered), then select the logistics method below, and fill in the promised delivery time and discount.
3) Set custom shipping
Sellers can personalize a certain logistics method, such as setting standard shipping for some countries, setting free shipping for some countries, etc.
step01 When setting the shipping template, select the “Custom Shipping” radio button, and then click the “Add a Shipping Combination” option.
step02 Select the countries included in the shipping combination. You can select countries by region or by area.
step03 After the selection is completed, the page will display the currently selected countries/regions.
step04 Sellers can set the shipping type for the countries in the combination, including standard shipping discounts, seller-borne shipping, or custom shipping.
step05 After clicking the “Confirm Add” button, a new shipping combination will be generated. Sellers can continue to add shipping combinations, or edit or delete the already set shipping combinations.
step06 For countries where it is difficult to query delivery information and the transportation time of large and small packages is poor, sellers can select the “Do not ship” radio button and click the “Confirm Add” button to block the country/region.
After setting the custom shipping fee, when the seller releases the product, select the “Custom Shipping Fee Template” radio button in the “Product Shipping Fee Template” option group, and then select the previously set logistics template in the drop-down list box on the right.
4) Manage Shipping Fee Templates
If the existing shipping fee template does not meet the current needs, the seller can edit the relevant shipping fee template. The method is: switch to the “Product Management” tab, click the “Shipping Fee Template” hyperlink, select a shipping fee template, such as option 1, and click the “Edit” hyperlink on its right.
