(1) Chargeable weight unit: Generally, 0.5kg is used as a chargeable weight unit.
(2) The first 0.5kg is the first weight (or lifting weight), and each additional 0.5kg is an additional weight. Usually, the lifting fee is higher than the additional weight fee.
(3) Actual weight and volume: Actual weight refers to the actual total weight of a batch of items to be transported, including packaging. Volumetric weight or volume refers to the method of measuring the volume of items and converting it into weight to calculate the freight when the items to be delivered are large in volume but light in actual weight due to the carrying capacity of the transportation vehicle (airplane, train, ship, car, etc.) and the volume of the items that can be loaded. Light parabolic objects refer to items whose volumetric weight is greater than the actual weight.
(4) Chargeable weight: According to the definitions of actual weight and volumetric weight, and the regulations of the International Air Cargo Association, the weight for charging freight during the transportation of goods is calculated based on the higher of the actual weight and volumetric weight of the entire batch of goods.
(5) Packaging fee: In general, express delivery companies provide free packaging, such as cartons and bubble wrap. For example, clothes do not need special packaging. However, for some valuable and fragile items, express delivery companies need to charge a certain amount of packaging fees. Packaging fees are generally not included in discounts.
(6) General freight calculation formula.
① When the actual weight of the item to be delivered is greater than the volume, the freight calculation method is: first weight freight + (weight (kg) x2-1) x additional weight freight
For example, 5kg of goods are calculated based on the first weight of 150 yuan and the additional weight of 30 yuan, then the total freight is 150+(5×2-1)x30=420 (yuan).
② When the actual weight of the item to be delivered is small but the volume is large, the freight needs to be charged according to the volume standard, and then the total freight is calculated according to the above formula.
The formula for calculating the volume is as follows.
Regular items: length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm) / 5000 = weight (kg).
Irregular items: longest (cm) x widest (cm) x highest (cm) / 5000 = weight (kg).
