For a cross-border e-commerce enterprise, its job classification is not essentially different from that of most other types of enterprises. All positions in cross-border e-commerce can be summarized into four categories: product department, marketing department, operation department, and technical department. Each department has a more detailed job division. The relevant staff in each position perform their duties and work for various departments of the company. Of course, these departments are not completely independent, and there is a need for certain collaboration and mutual assistance between departments. Only when the entire enterprise is united and cooperates with each other can the overall competitiveness of the company be improved together.
The responsibility of the cross-border e-commerce product department is to implement the company’s product strategy. For a cross-border e-commerce enterprise, there are generally two ways to source products: one is to directly produce and manufacture in the company; the other is to obtain through external channels. Before the product is manufactured, it is necessary to develop the products to be produced, that is, to design the specific style of the required products, which requires the cooperation of the product development department. If the company wants to obtain goods from external channels and save the intermediate manufacturing link, the procurement department needs to carry out related work. Of course, in addition to these two departments, the product department of a cross-border e-commerce enterprise also needs to be equipped with some employees to regularly inventory and inspect the goods. Therefore, the responsibilities of the cross-border e-commerce product department can be roughly divided into: product development, product procurement, product inventory, and product inspection.
