During the operation process, due to poor management, some sellers have problems with funds and their stores are facing closure. So how to close? This article will share with you the process of closing an Amazon store.

First, all orders to be delivered must be processed, and there must be no financial disputes. Wait 90 days after the last sales activity to ensure that claims submitted during the Amazon Marketplace transaction security claim period are processed. Properly handle all transactions between sellers and buyers, including necessary refunds, and when the bank account information is confirmed to receive the final payment, you can cancel it.

Note: If the seller has inventory, he must submit a request to return or abandon all inventory before closing the account.

I. Specific closing process.

1. Enter the background and contact the seller. Select “Account” and then click “Close Account”.

2. Click Close Account, and several questions will pop up asking why the account is closed. Sellers can choose any reason.

3. Finally, you will receive an email from the platform notifying you that the account has been closed.

II. The impact after closing the store.

If you have a North American affiliate account, all other eligible accounts will be closed when you close your account. For example, if you close a US account, your Canadian and Mexican accounts will also be closed. The easiest way to determine if you have a North American affiliate account is to check if there is a marketplace switch.

If you are registered, please review the Downgrade/Upgrade and Tax Calculation Service page for important information before closing your account.

Once your account is closed, you will no longer have access to it. You will also not be able to view order history, process returns, refunds, respond to Amazon Marketplace Transaction Protection claims, or communicate with buyers.

This is to ensure that claims submitted during the Marketplace Transaction Security Claim period are processed, and sellers will wait three months after the last order before canceling. If you have any pending transaction protection claims, your account must be available before it can be processed and your account balance must be zero before you can cancel it.
