Amazon’s ShopLocal is an invitation-only program for sellers that allows sellers to ship eligible items in their city, state, or state, rather than nationwide shipping, which is required for all other items. Sellers participating in the program can choose to ship items only in their state (such as California), state (such as Southern California), and city (such as Los Angeles). Customization beyond the areas defined in the seller’s configuration settings is not allowed.
If sellers are invited to participate in the Amazon ShopLocal program, they can create regional templates limited to the desired areas. Only invited sellers can use this feature.
Once sellers are invited, follow the steps below to create local templates in the seller’s shipping settings.
1. Shipping settings, then click [New Shipping Template].
2. Shipping settings, then click [Create/Edit Shipping Template].
3. In the seller’s template, please deselect the relevant areas and select only the areas where the seller is interested in providing shipping services.
Note: Sellers must select at least a standard shipping zone. In other words, for example, sellers must use standard shipping in New York to use two-day delivery in that city. Sellers cannot use One-Day Delivery only in New York.
4. Save the template.
5. Add inventory to the template. See Assign SKUs to Shipping Templates for details.
Product Selection Policy
Only some products qualify for local-specific delivery by sellers. Eligible products include large, heavy items that meet the following criteria:
Sellers may also choose to offer additional services for their products, such as installation or assembly. Sellers can learn more about servicing local products.
