As a cross-border e-commerce platform, the calculation method of logistics and freight on Shopee is not clear at a glance. It requires sellers to conduct some research to understand it. This article mainly introduces how Shopee’s logistics and freight are calculated.
The logistics and freight of the Shopee platform is divided into two parts, one part is borne by the seller, called the additional weight freight, and the other part is borne by the customer, called the first weight freight. In order to reduce costs, sellers must hide the additional weight freight in the price of the goods, which is the so-called hidden price.
1. To calculate the freight, the first thing to know is the physical weight of the goods. The physical weight here does not count the throw.
For Shopee’s SLS logistics, most countries have a first weight of 10g, and every 10g is the additional weight. Converted into domestic currency, it is about 0.2 yuan to 0.6 yuan per 10g, and one kilogram of goods requires about 25 yuan in freight. The freight standards of each country are different, and the official freight table shall prevail.
Everyone knows that the heavier the weight of the goods, the higher the price of freight, so most of the goods in many cross-border sellers’ stores are small items, such as headphones, jewelry, etc. Many products on the platform are stuck within the first weight, which is easier for sellers and customers to accept.
Second, if the seller wants to check the account, the store’s completed order shall prevail.
The page of the completed order can see the amount of the goods, which is the sum of the selling prices of the goods; the total freight displayed on this page is what the seller needs to pay; the actual freight includes the seller’s freight and the buyer’s freight. Sometimes the customer has a freight subsidy from the platform, and the freight paid by the buyer will be displayed as 0; the transaction fee accounts for 2% of the total order amount, and the order amount here includes the freight; the order income displayed in the completed order is accurate.
After the seller delivers the goods to the warehouse, the Shopee warehouse will weigh them. The weight of the goods is based on the official weighing, which may have a certain error with the seller’s own weighing, but generally it will not be too different. Sellers should calculate clearly when filling in the price of the goods before listing, otherwise there may be a loss, which is very unfavorable for sellers.
