When it comes to “product packaging before Amazon FBA purchases”, many novice sellers will feel a headache. As we all know, FBA has always been very strict about product packaging requirements. If you are not careful in packaging, Amazon officials may reject the product, which will ultimately affect the operation of the entire store.
Let’s sort out the specific requirements for product packaging:
1. Bulk goods.
Each type of goods must be packaged separately and securely. Goods that do not use safe packaging (such as large bags or large bags) need to be packaged in bags or fixed with non-sticky tape or removable tape. Regardless of the material used to make shoes and boots, they must be packaged in shoe boxes or with anti-suffocation plastic to ensure that the shoe materials are not exposed.
2. Combination of goods.
The packaging of the kit must be marked with the set logo. A label clearly indicates that the product will be accepted and sold as a single item. For example: “Sold as a set”, “Ready to ship”, “Set is not disassembled” or “This is a kit, please do not disassemble”. In general, packaged books, or products that sellers combine in large quantities, must be packaged in strict accordance with the above method. If a single item in the set already has an ASIN, then the set should use a unique ASIN. The barcode of the set, the single item cannot face outward, otherwise it should be covered.
3. Plastic bags are used to package goods.
The relevant departments require that sellers must meet the following requirements when using polyethylene bags: The polyethylene bag must be transparent. At least 1.5 mm thick. There is a scannable product barcode here. It must be completely sealed. Lay the plastic bag flat and measure it with a ruler. The plastic bag must not exceed the size of the product by more than 8 cm, and the opening must be no less than 12.7 cm. A suffocation warning should be provided, and the warning information may be printed on the plastic bag or attached to the plastic bag. If the suffocation warning is not marked, it may lead to the repackaging of the product.
Note: To avoid the risk of suffocation, please keep this plastic bag out of the reach of infants and children.
4. Box packaging.
Sellers must use hexahedral boxes that cannot be easily opened or covered. If the box is easy to open by yourself, please seal it with tape, glue or staples. It is necessary to ensure that the carton will not collapse under moderate pressure on any side. If the boxed goods have perforated sides or openings, the goods must undergo a 3-foot (90 cm) drop test, including one drop on each side and one drop in the center. If the goods fail the drop test, they must be placed in a polyethylene plastic bag and marked with a suffocation warning.
5. Bubble film packaging goods.
If the goods are fragile and easily damaged during transportation, bubble film packaging should be considered. When packaging the product, seal the bubble film with tape to prevent the goods from falling. It can pass a 3-foot drop test on a hard surface and the items contained are not damaged. If the seller conducts the test, it is mainly tested from the bottom landing, top landing, longest side landing, shortest side landing, corner landing, etc.
6. Box packaging.
For products that pose a safety risk during transportation, Amazon officials will require them to be packaged. Box packaging is to put pre-processed or packaged goods into boxes. Even if the goods have been packed, the packaged goods must be packaged.
Products requiring box packaging:
Sharp objects that may puncture the packaging materials.
After wrapping with bubble film, the 3-foot drop test failed.
Fragile items may be damaged during transportation and processing.
Hazardous liquids in glass containers exceeding 4.2 ounces.
Amazon officials will require that goods over 10 pounds be packed in double-layer corrugated cartons.
7. Mattress packaging
Bed mattresses must be packed in corrugated cartons and listed as mattresses when setting new ASINs. When making mattresses, be sure to classify them correctly: Home and Kitchen Supplies > Furniture > Bedroom, Mattresses and Box Springs > Mattresses.
8. Original goods packaging and shipping.
Scannable barcodes on the boxes must be removed or blocked. Only items in the box can be barcoded. All items in the box must match the SKU, be in the correct condition, and be packaged by the manufacturer. All boxes containing the same item must contain the same number of items per box. For example, 24 original boxes must contain 24 items. Each box can only contain a maximum of 150 original packaging items. You can pack the same ASIN into a box and mark the box as “shipped in original packaging.”
