Amazon FBA shipping plan creation guide: detailed steps from registration to label printing

As one of the world’s largest cross-border e-commerce platforms, Amazon has attracted countless sellers. In order to help sellers better understand and master the Amazon FBA shipping process, this article will detail all the steps from registering for FBA services to finalizing the shipping plan.

Step 1: Register for FBA service

First, you need to enter Amazon’s service page, click “Fulfillment by Amazon”, follow the prompts to fill in the company name and agree to the relevant terms and agreements, and select the FBA service to register.

Step 2: Convert to FBA SKU

In the Amazon backend, click “Inventory Management” and select the SKU that needs to be converted to FBA delivery mode. For a single SKU, you can directly select “Convert to ‘Fulfilled by Amazon'” in “Action”; if it is a batch conversion, you can first select multiple items, click “Actions”, and then select “Convert to ‘Fulfilled by Amazon'”.

Step 3: Create a shipping plan

  • New warehousing plan: After converting the SKU, you need to create a new warehousing plan or add the SKU to an existing warehousing plan.
  • Set shipping address: The shipping address can be the default address or a new address.
  • Choose packaging type: Amazon offers two main packaging types – mixed shipments (one shipping box contains multiple SKUs) and original factory packaging (one shipping box contains only One SKU with a fixed quantity).

Step 4: Set quantity

Check whether you need to fill in additional information and confirm that there are no banned SKUs. If you need to add other products, you can click “Add Product” in the upper right corner. You can delete existing plans or copy past plans at the bottom left of the page. After completing the “Set Quantity” operation, click “Continue” to proceed to the next step.

Step 5: Prepare the product

  • Pre-processing: Depending on the nature of the product, some items may require additional packaging to meet shipping requirements. For example, semi-open packaging needs to be packed in a transparent plastic bag. Amazon will require additional packaging based on product characteristics, but will charge a fee.

Step 6: Print product labels

The product label is called FNSKU, and its printing specifications are available in a variety of options. Labels should be printed using removable self-adhesive stickers with a white background. When printing, make sure to use a thermal transfer or laser printer and ensure that the printing resolution is no less than 300DPI.

Step 7: Sub-warehouse

This step allows you to create a new shipping plan or add items to an existing shipping plan. After confirming the shipment information, click “Confirm Shipment” to officially create the shipping plan.

Step 8: Prepare the shipment

  • Adjust quantity: The shipment quantity can be adjusted by no more than 6 pieces or within ±5% of the original quantity.
  • Choose the warehousing method: The warehousing delivery method is divided into small package delivery (SPD) and less than truckload (LTL). The specific choice needs to be communicated and confirmed with the shipping logistics.
  • Set box information: You can choose to put all products into one box, one SKU per box, or multiple SKUs per box.
  • Print box and pallet labels.

Step 9: Fill in the logistics tracking code

Enter the tracking number and check the shipping plan item list. If you find that the quantities do not match, you can contact Amazon through “Shipment Discrepancy Inquiry” to investigate.

During the Amazon FBA backend shipping operation, be sure to check the quantity of goods, print appropriate labels, affix labels correctly, and choose a shipping company that can provide logistics tracking numbers.

Through the above steps, sellers can successfully complete the creation of Amazon FBA shipping plan, laying a solid foundation for the smooth entry of products into the market.
