Detailed explanation of Amazon seller background settings: from account information to logistics management

In the backend of the Amazon Seller Service Center, the “Settings” in the upper right corner of the homepage is related to the backend settings of the seller’s account. Place the mouse pointer on the “Settings” hyperlink, and you can see the related operations of account settings in the pop-up drop-down menu.

Account information settings

Click the “Account Info” option in the “Settings” drop-down list to set account-related information. This includes order status, service content provided, payment methods, recharge methods, company information, shipping and return information, tax information, etc.

  • Order status: Displays the status of all products. Active means normal on-shelf status, and Inactive means off-shelf status.
  • Services provided: Such as seller plan, whether to participate in FBA, whether to subscribe to advertising activities.
  • Payment method: Set the receiving bank account number, and the cycle for Amazon to transfer funds to the seller is 14 days. Recharge method: Set credit card information to pay fees related to the Amazon platform. When the balance on the Amazon account is insufficient to pay the Amazon platform fee, it will be deducted from the bound credit card.
  • Company information: Set the company address, company name, business license and other information.
  • Shipping and Return Information: Used to set shipping and return addresses.
  • Tax information: Set up Mexican tax registration number, European VAT information.

Notification Preferences

System notification preferences include order notifications, return and claim notifications, product listing notifications, report notifications, bargaining notifications, Amazon sales guidance notifications, account notifications, emergency notifications, etc. Sellers can set up different mailboxes to receive different types of system notification emails based on actual needs.

Login settings

On the account login settings page, sellers can modify their name, email, password and account advanced security settings.

Return settings

Adding return information refers to adding U.S. address information for customers to directly return goods or withdraw from FBA warehouses. This is usually the site’s local third-party cooperation with an external warehouse or the seller’s self-built warehouse address.

Gift options

The gift option includes two options: gift message and gift packaging. For most sellers, these two services are not available during operation, so they can be ignored directly. The default state is disabled.

Shipping and freight settings

In the shipping and freight settings, sellers can set the shipping location, shipping freight template, etc., and set different rate standards based on the delivery scope, different receiving areas, and order quantities at different stages.

Set up FBA shipping

Enter the seller’s backend homepage, select Manage Inventory in the INVENTORY drop-down list, and enter the inventory management page. Select the product you want shipped by Amazon and put a check mark in front of it. Click Action on 2 selected and select Change to Fulfilled by Amazon. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Decline Label Service”. Once determined, you can click “FBA Excluded Products” to learn which products will be restricted by Amazon Fulfillment.

Set Amazon seller account information

In the seller’s backend, sellers can view and set account information through certain operations. For example, sellers can set up and view seller information in their account through the following steps. Enter the main page of the seller’s backend, hover the mouse on “Settings” in the menu bar on the right, and select the “Account Information” option.

Detailed explanation of logistics page

The logistics page settings include Amazon logistics product barcode preferences, subscription settings, multi-channel delivery settings, Amazon logistics donation program, etc.

  • FBA Product Barcode Preferences: Newbies should set this to Amazon Barcodes.
  • Subscription Settings: Manage “Subscription Savings”. Buyers who subscribe to “Subscription Savings” can enjoy 5%~20% discounts and free shipping services.
  • Multi-channel delivery settings: When a seller has other channels to sell products in addition to the Amazon platform, they can use Amazon FBA warehouses to deliver goods.
  • FBA Donation Program: Participating in the FBA Donation Program allows sellers to automatically donate unwanted inventory to selected U.S. charities.

Through the above settings, sellers can better manage Amazon’s backend and improve store operation efficiency.
